Welp I just pulled the trigger! Any suggestions on a NB block to add to my loop?
Oh and I grabbed a Q6600 to go with it. Going to pair it up with some OCZ pc 8800 that will pull at a minimum 5-6-6 @ 2.1. Man it feels wierd, this is the first intel setup I have bought in 8 years!
The best is the Enzotech block but you could always go with the Swiftech MCW30 for the smallest impact on flow rate and your wallet.
which enzotech blocks are they because Im also looking for one on the SB and NB?

Don't they look stunning? Enzotech SNBW -> you can get them from FrozenCPU or Sidewinder.
These are universal N/SB blocks. MIPS do have a set of mosfet, NB and SB copper blocks that you can get.
I just got mine yesterday, and drooling over it presently...:)
I'm trying to decide between the Danger Den MCP and the XSPC X20 Delta Chipset. I think they are both along the lines of the best chipset coolers out there with the micro pin designs....
Decisions...decisions...:D
Also pondering making a block for the mosfet/PWM area, whatever that 8phase power area consists of.

Martin, you know im your guru when it comes to setups.
So, as your friend, here is my recomendation:
1. Get a dayam 70mm yate in front of your mosfet heat sinks like so.
2. Grab the DD and call it a day like so:

The EK NB/SB 5 Universal block. That or the Enzotech block.

Actually really like the looks of the board components. After my 680i I thought it was normal for all the caps to be leaning, I was suprised to see these were all vertical...:D
Hmmm...what about a full CPU block on the NB? I'd just have to machine up a new hold down...maybe out of copper? It's a little overkill, but that's why I like it so much..

i thought the big chips were the inductors (the ones with CPL written on them...)
well the big chip on my IX38 quadgt stays cool all the time, only thing getting hot are the small chips, and make sure to use a thermal pad on them (they crush very easily and made funny noises when i put thermal paste on them, no noise with a thermal pad :up:)
Perfect, sounds like cooling is not needed.
If you have a chance can you measure around the board for any of other little chips that may be a little hotter? I have a package of those mini copper sinks I had planned to stick around on a few others, but I'm not sure there is any heat generated from anything. There does appear to be about 8 bigger mosfet looking chips scatter around the board....I thought maybe they would be good candidates?:shrug:

They sure put plenty of TIM grease on there, hope it's not conductive because it got all over the place..

Someone at OC.AU stuck the MCW60 on their NB ;). I guess it needed a custom mounting plate.

Great pic Martin, just what I needed.
After 2 hours of running Prime 95 v25.6 build 6, at stock settings, system below I get the following results:
The 3 chips outllined in red are the hottest. They are running around 47-51C.
The 3 chips outlined in yellow are next, they running at 43-45C.
The main heatsink for the mosfets above the CPU is running34-36C.
None of the rest of the chips on the board get above 40C.
Ambient temp is 26C.
This is sitting out in the open on a Top Deck Tech Station.
