Roundup Water-Block ( EK, D-Tek, ApogeeGT, XWB-01) who is better ? (56k Warning!)

Hello all, This week in Thailand are Long weekend on Songkran festival so i have more time for playing something without my job :D and after long time for muster Water-Block from around the world :ROTF: because in Thailand only have Swiftech on sale :) so lasted is i received WB it is EK-Supreme.... ok now i already 4th of water-block are popular

Nice testing results but disappointed to see no test with the quad nozzle since you have a quad core cpu.

thats some nice results..
it would be nice to have a 3.6mm nozzle included and see if that offers any improvements..

is it me or does the EK supreme look slightly bowed? anyway the contact seems to be very good on the IHS.

any1 can make a guess of nozzled bowed Fuzion vs bowed EK supreme?

Odd that no springs were used on the Thermalright block... kinda makes mount consistency fly out the window...

Also, from the look of the wc blocks, you covered the ihs with TIM, not the single line of TIM, and let the wc block spread?

Yes for contact of Supreme have a little bowed, from i checked 3x Supreme in my hand it same all and D-Tek is contact good level from all

Thats it, my Apogee GT is geting replaced by a Supreme.

Did you Bow the Apogee? I definitely saw an improvement when I bowed it.

Going from a bowed gt to a supreme is pointless in terms of overclocking, since 4c higher cannot get you better overclocks as opposed to 4c less.
The gt is also less restrictive than the ek, so if you add mutliple blocks to the loop, who knows what the temp difference would be then.

The EK performs better with more flow up to the equivalant of an RD-30 @ 21V which is roughly = to 2 ddc's in a series. [Martin also tested the Rd-30 @ 21V with my hypothesis, and agree'd that this could be the top apex in performance/voltage for this pump on on some blocks, provided you had the radiator to help dish out the added heat from the pump!]

Anyhow, Thanks for your results, now im glad i have a point of reference to direct people to.

also i noted that the EK @ 21V will pull ~3-5C ahead of my BOWED copper top GTX@ 18V. The ApogeeGTX wont experience a performance increase @ 21V. This is why i bought 2 EK's. You cant beat them with the right pressure.

Sorry if they did have nice flow, they wouldnt be up here to begin with. I think you missed the point in having accelerators.

Wouldnt matter. Because the quad nozzle isnt as focused as the 4.5mm. And the EK is still keeping up with the 4.5mm nozzle. Hence you'd get a more even temp across the floor with the quad, yet the concentration velocity and performance would be lessened.


@Nikhsub1: Scott see i told you, your block is probably borked hence why you been getting really bad results.

Remember phelan when playing with that pump voltage, it can take about 3-5 min to see a effect.

Why don't you add the italian Ybris ACS on the test???

effects in temps of CPU or the heat dump from the pump?:D

because for his tests to be accurate, he needs the block.

Unless you want to loan him the block, or he asks for suggestions on additional blocks, its not nice to ask a review how come this or that wasnt included, unless its a test methodolgy that wont require many many hours of work. :up:

He cant just drop the data in there as well, because it would screw the rest of his data. Watercooling systems are unique in each build because its almost impossible to dulplicate your results on different beds. Nikhsub1 can tell you more detail in it, as he is working very hard on a data bank for such a test.


@Phelan, LOL, as in overall, because for you to get better temps, your coolant temps need to be better, and that can take some time to knock off. Remember it takes 350W of energy to change water temp 1C @ 1.5gpm. Its funny but not a lot of people can visualize that.

Yah for my ApogeeGT it have little bowed too but for my ApogeeGTX it very bowed so i then not use it in this tested :)
