Model # ST3320613AS
If it has a higher sustained data rate compared to the 500GB 7200.11, than bye bye F1 :D

Niice.
Very cool, If its as quiet as the F1 and the WD then I might go with this one.
any 640GB version?
Well WD is 25db in idle, http://www.wdc.com/en/products/produ...99&language=en
and here is a calculator to convert the units http://www.asknumbers.com/SoundConversion.aspx
It shows the drives are virtually the same. Bels vs decibels are an easy coversion :D unlike sons to dbA
We'll se when spcr users post some subjective/objective observations.
Some nice decent gains here. HDD's need a standard speed increase now. make everything 10k and we'll be good.
If only the F1s were available here now, unknown ETA :(
Man I just wish you could actually buy the f1 in the states, life hear has declined so much since we went to war

...you can buy them...
Ever shop at Micro Center? I might try to talk home office into getting us to carry the Samsung F1, if demand is high enough.
About the .11 320. WE WANT BENCHES
:lastweek:
Still waiting to hear something final on the 7200.11 controller issues. Did they solve the issue of OSs not seeing the onboard cache?
:bounce:
Bring forth the reviews!
hmm i just got my 640GB F1
speed is great, a huuuge stepup from my 7200.10 (2 of them in raid 0 are slower...)
still need 3 more drives, 1 more 640GB in Raid 1 and 2 320gb for apps+OS in raid 0, i'm getting tire of dividing my data on 4 different external drives to back it up
but i really want 2 single platter 320 gb drives for my OS, WD is out because of the access times, but i'm still hoping to get a F1 (new one is much more quiet than my 7200.10s) or the 7200.11 in the next month  , my lappy wants a 320gb drive to ( 400€ for hard drives  )
Do want :)
I'm seriously excited for these things, gonna get 2 of them hopefully. :D
Bought a 500GB 7200.11 last week, briefly considered getting another for RAID... then these 320GB/Platter babies from WD and Seagate roll out...bah. Difficult for people who treat computer building as an art form to ignore. Less power, less noise and good performance alwayts make you stand up and take notice...even if you're not in the market:shakes:
Sweet drive, wonder what pricing will be like. edit: 80 bucks on newegg, not bad.
Nice drive!
Very similar specs to the F1 + 2 year extra warranty = :)
The size (height) is impressive - I can't figure how that would fit into existing 3.5" format though, seems like the screws would be in limbo.
Now get some more capacity in there!
is there just 1 Seagate 320GB 7200.11 or there are 2 revisions (1 is using old platter(2 of them) or the other is just using 1 single platter( new rev)?
They have it at New Egg and this is the seciond time around my Raptors have died and regardless of the Rotation speed I am really thinking of getting some of the ES drives 2.1 or 2 of these suckers and selling the Raptors:(
Here are the benchmarks or using google translate
Access time seems high, but the results are very good.
