Very clean look, nice mod man
looks great, just one question (I have a p180b modded to be like a p182), does the window add any noise? I bought my p180b specificly for how quiet it is, but if a windowed panel doesn't add any noise, I'm all for it
looks very pro. I need to muster the courage to cut up my own case, because the fees performance pcs charges for their mods are ridiculous.
Holy crap that's ub3r 1337. Wish I had a damn jigsaw...
Very nice job. Looks factory.
The overall look is pretty awesome and it's just clean - I like it but I think I won't touch my p182 :P
Sweet, i'm also thinking about making a side window when i have installed my watercooling, but i don't have the ballz to put a saw to my case / side panel just yet :(
very very nice work man...great job!!!
i would also like to try this....but i dont have the nerve to fu my 182B SE....lol
but man would i like to have a window
Amazing job. Cases with windows a re way cooler looking than cases without windows. Now you get to show off your cable management
P182 window mod done with 100% hand tools (AriciU's case :) ).
very nice in both
I would have kept the window just on the main chamber, but that's just my preference ;)
My thoughts as well...
Just wondering, how do you guys get the lines to be so smooth? Whenever I cut anything with a jigsay the cut waves around and is jagged and that's my biggest fear for modding the side panel (don't want to ruin anything)
Clamp it down and take your time.
First I measure 1 & 3/4 inches all around, drew lines & then taped all the lines.
I then used a dremel with a cutting bit No.561.
After the cut I used a mini electric sander with 150 grid, to sand all the lines smooth.
You can buy small like sanding cylinders 1/4 to 1/2 inch, thats what I used for the corners.
Plex glass you just cut 1 inch on each side bigger then the hole you cut, then apply your 3M double sided tape.
If your cutting for a fan all I did was use a 80mm for a template, marked it ect.
How to get the hole round is easy, just use something like a cone & glue sand paper onto it, as you place the cone into the rough out cut hole leaving just a small amount away from the hole. It will take no time & thats how you make a perfect round circle...
Te problem with the P182 side panel is that it has grooves corresponding to the ridges on the inside and this limits the possibilities of merking a smaller window hole withiut compromising the overall look. In my case I removed the inner aluminium sheet which was held in place with double sided tape and some nibs on the edge. The P180/P182 side panels are actually made of plastic (I think ABS) with two aluminium faces. The outer face is brushed and anodised.
dead thread revival... Can some one post some more P180 pics of mods? I'm looking for ideas...
