9800GTX information sum-up (including nude PCB leak pic)
-
Slightly higher than my 3DMark06 score using 24/7 clocks on an 8800GT...here's to hoping this card has a lot of headroom.
-
Is it a 8800GTX near the 9800 GTX?
-
Yes, that's an 8800GTX, most likely the 9800 part below that.
-
Weak. Is this all Nvidia can come up with after 15 months?
-
yeah, it has to be the lower one. that first top picture is deff a g80 core
-
That PWM section is WAY better.

BINGO
Heres for a big slap in the face to nvidia and a kick in the rear for playing games with the gamers and enthusiats wanting a better video card after all this time has gone by and the card we expected to be the next best thing.. 9800gtx is anything but that :hehe: :hehe: :slap: :slap: :slap: :slapass: :slapass: :slapass: :slapass: :stick: :horse: :hammer: :hitself: :fight: :wierd: :slash: :cord: :dammit:

overclocked 8800 GTS
so fail
-
This card is :banana::banana::banana:ing pointless. And why is it bigger than G92 GT/GTS? It's the same :banana::banana::banana:ing thing! It's even bigger than 8800GTX, what the hell is going on here?
I might but ATI this round out of spite.
-
To make this a true ring of failure they will have to make a 9800GT.
-
Wow, that is once big busy looking PCB for how little there is going on. Unless this thing OC's by +150mhz out of the box that fancy PWM looks like a big waste.
-
Does anyone know what that small, black wire connected to the PCB (near the TV-out port) is?

9800 gtx seems to be a big fake
and the 3dmark score is taller due to the cpu, not the gpu ....
my 8800gtx will run well for a long time again lol

i guess manufacturers put whatever connections they want on different models anyway

What a piece of crap. Mostly because I'm pissed off, but also because it's a steaming pile of crap.
-
If it doesn't OC to 1Ghz+ on aftermarket air, then it's totally useless.
-
I see 4 vGPU phases, 2 vDD phases and one for vDDQ - so it matches G80GTX atleast for power specs. Everything else is of course a step backwards from G80GTX.

Huh. I didn't see anything about S/PDIF mentioned in that article, nor have I ever heard anything about the 9800GTX having TOSLINK capability. An HDMI port would be more practical, ala the 9800GX2.

Nifty! That totally makes up for the performance!
-
pffft, my 8800GT's will rape this thing.
Then again its totally understandable for Nvidia to basically just rename the 8800GTX and make it bigger. ATi proves no competition right now and you can bet your ass they have something HUGE waiting for ATi to release there next next gen card.

HD3870 is pretty good competition if you ask quite a few people. It's sure a step up from 2900XT fame in terms of power efficiency:performance. Seems like it's much more than 'no' competition to me.
