7200GS Vmod
Hey guys :)
in march i like to organize a LN2-Session with my two friends, we will buy a Asus P5K to bench Superpi with my E8400, besides we like to vmod the board, but we are new in moddingscene, so we will start with modding a Gigabyte 7200GS to get skill. But i didnīt find a description for this GFX, so i want you to explain me how to mod this card, it would be nice if you add a list of material we need, because i donīt know what we need for modding, just a soldering gun :p Here are pics of the background :

I hope somebody can help me, i would feel really happy :) Thanks Chris

Please measure the resistance between pin 4 of the RT9259A and ground (the dustplate for example). Can you make a picture of the top of the card as well?

the bottom middle pin in the picture - reads 1.013- 1.014 ... is this the proper pin as the top middle (4) doesn't read anything:shrug:

TheGoat Eater,
That's the correct pin. Assuming that measurement of yours means 1.013kΩ then vGPU mod would be 20kΩ VR to ground from pin#4.
-
where can I measure voltage at?
-
A good vGPU measuring point would be the legs of the big yellow copper coil marked as "L11" on the silkscreen.
-
that is what I was thinking
-
For the trimpots/VR/potentiometerwill I need -
(RWV) = Wire Wound, Inductive Elements OR (RCV) = Non-Inductive, Cermet or Carbon Elements
-
-
That's absolutely brutal performance right there!
:p:
GPU-Z seems to be confused with the vRAM freq though...
Or is it?
:D
-
its reading it like 400MHz = ddr2 800 though it shows 950 -yeah odd for sure
-
That sure is a hell of a score.
Better order a Tek 4.0 immediately :D
