Intel Nehalem benchmark
wow if thats true then we are in for a real treat from intel.:D hope that its accurate and no joke.
yeah 8 s for 2.6 ghz and 4 s for 4.xx ghz this enough fast for me . my core 2 quad q6600 at 4 GHz look already pretty slow
Once again, I don't buy it.
Good news for AMD is its true, looks to beat one beasty chip
Just sick...:p:
At IDF, Intel said that the jump from Core2 Duo -> Nehalem is significantly greater than the jump from P4 -> Core2 Duo for single-threaded applications.
I suspect that benchmark is real, but it is also misleading. Nehalem is thought to distribute single-threaded tasks over more than one core using dynamic multithreading. Current Intel CPUs can't do that. Current Intel CPUs can only use one core for that test.
If you ran four instances of SuperPi instead of just one, I bet the net gain would be <20% over a Core2 Quad at the same clock speed.
The only reason why Nehalem is good at SuperPI is because SuperPI 1M fits completely in its 8MB cache (SuperPI 1M allocates 8MB of memory).
if that was the case , then we could have seen major non linearity in Conroe 256k spi , or wolfdale 512k spi (both fit the cache), which isnt true .Also i dont think if it was even the case, you could perfectly "clean" the l2 cache from "Garbages" to have 100% filled with spi data
I'll stick to Ken_F's post
whoa....nice! but well still have to wait more for benchmarks cause im not buying it, when is supposed to be the release date?? also nehalem will have hyper threading right?
look at CPU-z is version 1.3X hard to believe.
I'll believe it when I have one sitting on my desk ready to go into the rig ;)
Seems fishy to me...
One benchmark? If you were in the position of having one, you'd sure as heck run more than spi on it.
I believe there must be Nehalem samples around at this stage; whether the posted results are fake or not i care not.
Fishy results ?

Also look forward to AMD 45nm.

lol?
That was IDF, I was left two demos in the back.
As far as the screen shot, not sure.
How does nehalem csi/fsb work and what's it supposed to operate at??
It says 444/1333 there (???)
But in the description he only mentions the 8mb L2 is wrong (should be L3)
God there amazing results i hope its true will this be out round about christmas time!
Someone on XS made that photoshop about two years ago as a joke, lol....it's a B0 X6800...
two years ago? Did we even know that much about nehalem back then?
All they needed was a name...
lol
LOL
Nice find Vapour!
Oh yeah, and before any conspiracy theories start cropping up, the cliff's notes of that thread is that it was all a gigantic joke.
But the fact that all you guys fell for it is an even bigger one. :p:
