need you opinion please

this is my first post, so hi all :)

this will be my second water cooled rig and here is the parts i have:
2x Swiftech MCR320 radiator
2x Swiftech MCP-655 without the controler
1x D-tek Fuzion CPU water block
2x EK-MultiOption res 150 Rev. 2
6x Scythe Ultra Kaze 3000rpm with Zalman ZM-MFC1 Plus Fan Controller

all will be 1/2" tubing and the coolant is FluidXP+Ultra (Blood Red)

and i will be cooling:
EVGA 780i (when they come up with a NB block) i still didn't order it yet
Intel E8500 (didn't order it yet) or a QX6800
2x 8800 Ultra (i might get a third card or wait for the 9800GTX) i didnt order the blocks yet until i decide
my case: Lian Li v2000

so im doing two loops, my question is will the MCR320 will be able to cool a e8500 highly overclocked and a NB and SB, or a QX6800 also overclocked with the NB and SB?
the other loop will be for the GPU.

so please give me your opinion

i have some other quistions, will a MCR220 handle 2 overclocked ULTRAs, and will a MCR120 handle the 780i northbridge and mosfets, and also how many fans i can connect to a single channel on the Zalman ZM-MFC1 Plus, please i need your help.

you might be pushing that rad a bit with those cards on it. personaly i would put the CPU on the 220 and the GPU's on the 320. those vid cards will pump out heat like a forced air furnace and that 220 would probably not handle that much heat. a thermochill 120.2 would handle it but its more expensive and much thicker. just my 2 cents though.

If you are not limited with space and $$, switch to 2xThermochill PA120.3s. One will handle your NB+SB+CPU(even if it will be an extremely OC'ed quad), another one will do with 2 Ultras.

actually im limited with space because i want to keep everything internally and the bottom of the lian li v2000 will not fit two PA120.3 and also with two MCR320 and one MCR120 it will be the same price as one PA120.3!
so i will not get a MCR220 for the GPUs and its good that i allready have two MCR320, so will the MCR120 easly handle the NB SB and mosfets?
and keep in mind that i have the Ultra Kaze 3000rpm which has 133cfm.

and do anyone know how many fans i can connect to a single channel on the Zalman ZM-MFC1 Plus

I've got a bit tangled... Do you want to go with 3 loops? Sth like this:
1) CPU -> MCR320
1) 2xGPU -> MCR320
1) SB+NB+Mosfets -> MCR120
If all these rads will be cooled by 133CFM Ultra Kazes, it gonna rock!

ok another question :s , can i place the pump (mcp655) vertically without doing damage to it? i mean placing it on its side or on its back?
and also will the pump be efficient to run this loop:
MCR320 -> CPU -> MCR120 -> Mosfets -> NB -> SB -> MCP655?
or should i run the third loop on its own? because i don't want to add a 3rd res and pump to the case it would be too crowded

Regarding the V2000, I've just fitted two PA120.3 on the bottom. Once I've got my camera back I'll post some pics.

It involved some ingenuity, but can be done, and keep it nice, tidy and internal :)

In fact I've fitted 2 x 120.3, the oversized PSU (not as big as the Galaxy, is the Seasonic X900), an auxiliary 12V / 5V PSU (Meanwell PID-250A, for pumps, fans, control circuitry etc. etc.), the second pump and a rather big flow meter :)

Regarding the Zalman ZM-MFC1 Plus, you can connect 7W / channel. A "normal" 120 mm fan is 0.35A, so 0.35*12=4.2W, I'd say don't connect more than one, and be careful if you are using more meaty fans (Sanyo Denki 110s for instance), you may exceed the controller's capacity.

Edit: Remember that due to design (flaw IMHO) the Zalman controller will supply 11V and not 12V to your fans, unless you feed it with 13.2V (which may or not adversely affect the components). This means you will never be able to run the fans at full power.

You can run the pump in any position BUT with the inlet pointing downwards.

Reason being, there's a good chance of trapping an air bubble inside the impeller chamber that will impair it's efficiency and eventually kill it.

But for you to have an idea, one is on the left hand side, pushed against the "divider", the other on the right hand side, 3 cm from the bottom of the casing.

There's a sheet of plastic between the two, to prevent the top one sucking the hot air that the bottom one is exhausting.

Both suck cold air from the right and exhaust to the left, the top one with the fans pushing, the bottom one with the fans pulling.

I made a 6 cm deep "frame" that is attached to the PSU mounting plate (which now effectively protrudes 6 cm from the back of the casing), using aluminium "L" profile, that gives me extra clearance I needed for both PSUs.

As I said, it took some ingenuity, but I'm satisfied with the end result.

While I was reading your post, I could clearly imagine what you did.

I technically "cheated", in the sense that I didn't fit two 120.3s in a "stock" V2000.

Having a 6 cm deep "block" protruding from the back of the case may not be to everyone's taste, but given the oversized rads and PSU, I couldn't work it out without this little "license".

oh then it wont hold my fans as i want, my ULTRA Kazes are 0.60A so its 7.2w, whats the best controller out there:confused:

and what about the loop i talked about, will the MCP655 be efficient to run it?

There's plenty of people on this forum that use it, never heard of any complains.

However, IMHO the best way to make appropriate choices is to research first how things work.

This page is a good start.

Regarding your second question, I don't have an answer. You haven't specified which NB, SB or Mosfet blocks you are going to use. In fact AFAIK there's no 780i NB block yet, and I have a feeling none of the existing ones fit.

Have a play with Martin's flow rate estimator (it's in the stickies) using existing components, and judge the flow for yourself. Then calculate how much heat your components dump in the loop, and compare it to the heat dissipation capabilities of your rads for your chosen fans and given flow. Your guess is as good as mine.
