Does anyone know what this jumper does?
1.1v-1.2v-1.3v I believe ;)
Ahh I though you meant another (3 pin) jumper on non-reference boards. I'm not sure what this jumper on reference boards does really. It doesn't have anything to do with vGPU regulation that I know atleast. Have you googled it?
My G92 GTS came with such connector, I've been told it is used for adding sound to your videocard (HDMI). I've also been told that it does not function yet, atleast not with the videocard I've had here.
I have the jumpers on my 8800gt by asus as well
Test the voltage each pin is putting out.
The jumper you are talking about is the empty connector spot for the SPDIF input from your motherboard's sound, which would have been passed through to the DVI/HDMI adapter.... if anyone had populated the circuit in the reference boards.
Only a couple makers have bothered, notably the Gigabyte "HP8" version of the 8800GT. But noone has ever reported it working or not, so we have no idea. Guess not alot of people using these with HDTV's over HDMI.
I will grab a Gigabyte the moment someone confirms the audio passthru actually works and is driver supported.
Due to hollywood constraints, I dont think a computer can ever output TrueHD over this pathway though, only DolbyDTS. The sound will be downshifted from HD because of the belief it is not secure enough.
