And Seeing as I am a bit overdue for a new mobo, would it be pssble to make a 8pin eps addapter by hacking the top 8 pins off a old PSU and wiring them up to a molex or two like this:

Also would it be safe to do this with a single molex connecter or would I be better off with two?

You would be best off with 4 of course. And before you ask: I'm not joking.
The best way would be to not use any adapters at all or just the amount that is really unavoidable, but not more. Soldering some cables could be an alternative.
That would work, but you could also use the normal P4 connector instead
If you have a standard 4-pin, you can add 4 pins easier. Two-molex adapter to add those two +12V wires and run the grounds back as well. You could probably even just round out the plastic. Remember that pins 5-6-7-8 are all +12V, so it really shouldn't matter which one is which.
is using the -5v line such a good idea, wouldn't u want to only use the -12v's
What are you talking about? Who's using the 5V-line, let alone the -5V-line? As far as I can see, noone suggested to do so.:confused:Quote:

There are no negative lines, only zero (ground) lines. I don't see how it would matter which one you use.

The idea behind using a 8-pin connector in contrast to the 4-pin connector is to theoretically double the amount of current that can flow through the cables in total. In the pic in the first posting the problem is that there are enough (4) GND wires, but only 2x 12V wires are used and just split up to appear as 4. That doesn't really improve the situation. The cable diameter also influences the max possible current. So splitting up one cable into two still has the current limit of the one original cable.
