Working on my Flash Drive for the Maximus SE

I am working on my Flash Drive for the Maximus SE.

I used a friends system that had a floppy drive, and created a standard startup disk.

Formatted my 128M flash drive I will be using to boot off of on the Max, using the FAT system.

Copied all 10 files over to the flash drive:
DISPLAY.SYS ---- 17KB
EGA.CPI --------- 58KB
EGA2.CPI -------- 58KB
EGA3.CPI -------- 58KB
KEYB ------------ 22KB
KEYBOARD.SYS -- 34KB
KEYBRD2.SYS ---- 32KB
KEYBRD3.SYS ---- 31KB
KEYBRD4.SYS ---- 13KB
MODE ------------ 29KB

Don't I need a autoexec.bat and/or config.sys files?

I still need a link to the latest RAID 0 driver that I should be using with the Raptors.

If I want to find, and run a utility program called wipedrive, to write 0's on my drive to aid in Raptor compatibility, would that run from the DOS prompt when I boot off the flash? If so that program needs to be on here too.

How many different BIOS'es do you guys keep on your boot stick? The origional and the latest?

Is ther any other programs that come to mind that are handy to keep on your boot drive?

Sorry for the newb questions, I am trying to get a grip on allot of things at once.. ;)

Nobody is feeling chatty on the subjuct of making the ultimate boot flash drive?

My goal is that if we can make the ultimate flash drive ready to go for the Maximus with all the files we could need, I would zip it up to have ready for other newbies wanting to create a boot drive.

Now if sombody posts, I don't have a floppy and want to make a boot flash drive for my Maximus SE, the answer would be.

1) Format your flash drive using the FAT file system if the drive is under 2GB, use FAT32 for drives over 2GB.

2) Download and unzip file BOOTMAX on your flash drive.

Done! (That's what we need)

Then a small text file with flashing instructions, and various utilities we opted to include on the drive, and how they work.

I have holes in my game, but I do want to help out my brothers and sisters in the online community too. (I do give back!) ;)

You gonna need the autexec & config files if your trynig to boot into dos, however I'm pretty sure there are window like based programs that needs diffrernt files. But check out this site http://www.bootdisk.com/ its got some useful files you can use. Good luck!:YIPPIE:
