GSKILL F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ (2x2GB) Test & Overclocking CL4!

Today I got the opportunity to test a new DDR2 product from GSKILL, the F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ. This box contains two modules of 2GB each with an operating speed of 1000MHz 5-5-5-15 2.0~2.1v advertised speed.

Test setup:

- Intel Core Duo E6400 Air
- Asus P5B-Deluxe b1215
- 750Watt OCZ Gamestream

Overclocking: 516MHz (1033MHz) 5-5-5-15 2.0v:

Note:

This memory has little overclocking headroom, but is flexible with the latencies between 800~1000MHz. For 2x2GB this is really fast enough.This memory can easily run 1000MHz CL4-5-4-15 without adding too much voltage. The memory reacts best between 1.9~2.15v.

my set runs cool... at 2.0V they definitely dont need a fan. Definitely an awesome value for under 200.

You can't change the CAS-latency in Windows using MemSet.

oh yes you can - with older versions of memset. Of course this will be just a "virtual" change, not a physical one.

any results using the Asus Maximus SE, i will have my board monday, and my ram on tuesday.....if anyone with this kit can test this combo i would appreciate it.

I don't have an Asus Maximus SE mainboard, but I am sure it will perform better on a X38 then on my 965 mainboard. For example take a look at Dennys, Eva2000 review, they used an P35 mainboard. I think the results will be quiet similar on a P35/X38.

im testing this kit on a IP35 PRO and now i am @ 450 fsb x 1.2 multi = 1080 ddr without problems of stability.

Super memories in my opinion.

I installed both kit togethr on Asus Maximux Formula SE(bios 0401) as both kit are using D9 GMH chipset
