That's what the developper said... now let's see if it's true in the final version :)
IMO though for us 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 guys we'll need next gen cards to run the game properly.
It doesn't run that smooth on my quad running at 3.5 and gts overclocked.
I don't even have it on the super high settings but the high ones at 1280x1024.
I'll wait for the final to come out to make a full conclusion
good one! crysis will definitely prove itQuote:

i thing comparing to the 1080p consoles, u can't benchmark crysis on non less the 1050 and of course 1200 resolutions!
1920*1200 for me :D
whats the exact res for 1080i?
1920*1080
pc lcd has few more lines so 1920*1200

Yep, you're right at that point but I just like to know how the beta demo runs at that setup/specs! Is there anybody who got 8800gts / dual core / 2gig and vista?
Give me more info please :) like: high settings, 1280x1024, 8800gts 320mb, aa/af, processor, 2gig
question: does a quadcore mean it runs that much smoother or is a dual core (like the 5200@2.6) enough for crysis? Crysis said you really need a 8800ultra a quadcore and 3 GB to run it at high settings SMOOTH.
My general question is: is a 8800gts 320mb, dualcore, 2gig @ vista enough for high settings(not very high)(you can put your settings to very high in cfg) @ 1280x1024 @ bèta demo (the full version can only be better i think?)
somebody with an reasonable answer to those questions?
Because i'm not going to make a budget upgrade if it's not, than I'm going to wait another month or so!
thanks in advance!
Where do I start lol. I'm assuming there are multiple copies of crysis betas out there, because some were able to select "directx10" and they mentioned that it ran about 12-15fps faster.. (in xp, obviously it's not really directx10 since it's in xp, but it did improve their frame rates.I don't have that button/option, so that must be in a different version. Also, I don't have any icelevels or single player mode, only multiplayer mode.. Very High settings are disabled on mine and I can only select high settings.
My system is a 3.5quad with a 8800gts overclocked. I know that the beta version does not have quad support, so therefore I'm assuming anyone with a duo core should have the same exact results.
When applying 8x antialiasing, the settings are slow. In battleplay, you can get anywhere from 24-32fps, but then it can creep down to as low as 4-12fps.
Inside before you go out it is higher.. 38-42fps.. outside around 22-30fps. It's not a constant though, since the fps jump a lot.
It's not smooth and does not look as nice as the demos I have seen. I can put the settings at 2x anti-aliasing but the truth is that this game is so buggy at the moment, that I can't make a real judgement to what the final Game will be like. Maybe they will fix the bugs and the game will run at 40+fps on a gts in very high settings under directx10.. you never know
I'm assuming those are directx10 version.. Mine is running at 1280x1024 resolution
(x3210 3.5oc, 2gigs 1066crucial ballistix, 680i, gts 320 (688/1620/1010memory)
Eddie3dfx,
I've heard you can put your settings to very high in your cfg. file, if you do that you have some extra details like: sunrays between the trees and much more nicer and smoother grass and explosions with better lightning.
sunrays no.. There is some weird rainbow that makes the water turn weird colors.. looks horrible.
The nuclear explosion looks like an ms paint programs lol.
I will have to try editing the cfg.. But I'll have to wait until my evga 680i rma comes in ;(
Eddie3dfx,
this settings in config are for the highest settings + sunrays (they do exist) :

awesome, thanks.
The 2nd I get my 680i back I'll give a full review along with single 8800gts vs sli
A Thanks! you're awesome!
i'm hoping my rig can run it smoothly @ 1680 by 1050
I am running it alright on vista with my 320 8800gts but I am waiting until the demo before I judge it further
The game is playable for me at 1280x1024 high settings
What do you think of this ugrade I'm going to buy this week for running crysis and future games?
I already have an 8800gts and a zalman hp600 psu
My upgrade: intel 6750, msi p35 platinum, 2GB ocz reaper pc6400
Do you think it will run smoothly enough at high settings on a 1280x1024 screen?
Anyone tried 2560 X 1600 yet?
LOL who has the kinda power to run @ that res?? your rig looks stacked how come you havent tried it?Quote:
Anyone tried 2560 X 1600 yet?
what are you gtx's running @?
i don't think that right now there is such a rig that will run this res on average 45-60 fps.
Many people will be running the game with the same results. According to Crytek, the beta is far from optimized and the final version will run much, much smoother.
I'm getting ~30FPS on all high @ 1650x1050
System:
C2Q 6600 @ 3.4GHz
Single 8800GTX OC'ed
Vista Ult. 64bit
4GB RAM
Again, beta is not optimized - The SP demo will be MUCH better for comparison/benching. :)
