the DS4 should be a fair bit cheaper judging by the P965/P35 models

RAM slots are blocked if a long PCB card is used in the top slot, both PCI slots are blocked if a tall cooler is used in the bottom slot, but at least no more heatsink city and CPU socket is closer to the top.

Anyone have a better picture of the rear IO?

Not bad overall, a good indication of what a DS4 and DS3P might look like, I just can't wait for the day that Gigabyte uses a more sexy colour scheme, it just looks like something made out of spare parts

I was waiting for a Rev2.0 P35-DS4, but i think I will wait for an X38-DS4 instead, guaranteed no heatsink city and added flexibility of putting a GFX card at the bottom instead of top since I like rear mounted HR-03 instead.

I really hope those prices are just a direct conversion from one currency to another, 240 Euros would be almost $480 US Dollars...

i don't think because : 240€ = 327$ US ;)

But I think that X38 will be sold less expensive in the USA (between 250$ and 300$) :)

fsb 1600 sounds really nice, I thought the first fsb 1600 cpus will be server and then there is going to be refresh like with conroe 1066-1333mhz fsb, is this still correct?

I think I only see 4 USBs (under the Firewires) in the pic, those under the RJ45s look different, something like eSATAs would look like.

And one of the slides says:
7. Features SATA 3Gb/s with Quad eSATA 2 interface Don't see any eSATAs in there - except those in the I/O backpanel. Maybe some hardware-illiterate techie-wannabe from Gigabyte marketing dept. can't tell the difference between USB and eSATA?

I suspect Gigabyte's incompetence in making the slides is the explanation.

The model of Hardwarezone is a old sample i think :) , there was change on the final version.

The infos come from Gigabyte France (kit media sent by Gigabyte Taiwan) for the retailers and the press :)

prices are normally the same in europe as in USA asin €40 normallys is about $40/45

so nothing big :)

Where are a super new X38 features? I am seeing only TWO x16 PCI Ex slots ... nothing more ... Specification is the same like P35 ...

Its two full x16 PCIe 2.0 slots, so its a bit different...
Also has ICH9R, supposedly better memory-handling and overclocking, more
eSata, etc. What else do you think it should have?

P35 has 2 full size slots @ 16x and 4x, or with bridge chip thing for dual 8x/8x

X38 is supposed to have 2 full size slots both at 16x/16x
