Q6600 G0 3.9ghz 3DMark06 Vista And XP Results!
-
-
3.2ghz Q6600 B3
8800 GTX stock timings
so whats wrong with your score ? your running slower and your cpu is 600mhz faster.
you need to not use vista if you want to actually explorer faster benchmarks

Window Vista, thats what cause the low 3dmark score.
-
awesome clock.
is it prime or orthos stable?
congrats.
once i get back from NM iam mailing my poo chip back..i cant stand seeing all these awesome clocks.
-
why did you lower the memory on the gtx?
-
Very nice CPU score, though: 5324
-
Nice score, and very nice CPU clock on that G0.
-

Not prime stable, but I managed to finish 3Dmark 2005 and 2006!

What do you mean? Default is 900mhz. It's running @ 955mhz. My XFX 8800GTX is a poor memory clocker though.

Thermalright Ultra 120 with a 1500 RPM Blue LED fan.
Room temperature with A/C on is 70F
-
what ram on GTX is it ?...Mine is Hynix can do 2200Mhz+
-
that convinced me,
i just ordered an ultra-120 extreme from xoxide.
i can afford that but not WC right now.
ill be able to post direct comparisons with my ninja as temps around here are gonna be in the high 80's all week.
ill test at the same voltages as i am now and see temps at load. lets see how the ultra 120 kicks scythe butt.
if the difference is minimal then i will return it and eat the restocking fee, not so bad.
but if not, ill keep it until i can afford wc aroudn xmas.

What motherboard you are using? can you show your settings? i'm getting walled =(

My bad mine is at 626,2020. I don't know why i thought the stock memory was 2000.Sorry
-
Great result for air man:up:
Does seem Vista is the let down. Posted this in another thread. Similar clock, but in XP. Likewise my XFX is a bit limited.

I just tried loading XP SP2 to a new HD and right when it says "setup is starting windows", I get a BSOD.
I put my PC to default settings and it still does the same thing.
I'm thinking it could be that I am not loading the SATA driver (F6), but I really don't want to go looking for a damn floppy right now!

Hey orion23, nice results. My G0 came in today and it's L723A930 just like yours! Still waiting on the P5K Premium (it was only $10 more than deluxe and I can always swap it) and undecided on Ultra 120 or water. I also have 4x1gb Ballistix pc2-8000, do you really have to run it at 2.2 for default timings? I can't find the specs on Crucial's website, they only show the pc2-8500. Is it the same stuff?
-
Yeah it's has to be something in Vista as my CPU score at 3.5 (Win XP) was 5566 so when you do get XP working you are probably going to hit a score of 14000 with what looks like an extra 800 points judging by the CPU score in post 17. Nice.

Vista is definetely the culprit of low CPU even for high OC'ed Quad.
My 3D Mark CPU score at 3800MHz was about ~5540 which is better than Orion at 3900MHz.
If we're using XP, we'll probably hit 6K
Kinda regret on Vista now, it's like a waste of your nicely highly OC'ed chip...

omg i want a quad core :( i could get 14-15k 06 with that cpu power
-
Updated with XP results!

Don't really know. Crucial says it should be 2.2V so I run it @ those speeds.
I don't really try to overclock the RAM or even play with the timings since that is just asking for trouble. RAM can go bad very easily when abused and I really don't like not being able to use my PC while a component is being RMA'ed!
