added EK FC8800GTX to the loop and another radiator from the Gigabyte 3D Galaxy kit. back in the noob days, mixing aluminum with copper :rofl:

then moved to a BIX2, water colour turned from blue to purple from not cleaning out the gunk left over by previous owner, again, noob days :ROTF:
also upgraded to a Laing DDC with Petra's top and a Cathar Storm G4

Redline water wetter looks yucky, and tubing got dented from overuse of coolsleeves in unnecessary places, also changed to a Swiftech Storm

painted the Storms mounting plate and changed to a Intel Bad Axe 2, ditched the Swiftech stuff and bought some el-cheapo tubing from Bunnings

heaps of changes have happened and now:
-upgraded to an E6600
-downgraded to a 8800GTS 320MB
-swapped the 3x HDDs to a single 500GB one
-upgraded to a Corsair HX620W PSU
-upgraded to 2x 1GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500
-got my hands of 1/2" ID Tygon Tubing :YIPPIE:
-upgraded to a Swiftech MCR220
-Laing DDC died so I bought a Swiftech MCP350
-changed to a Swiftech Apogee
-changed out the Swiftech MCRES to a brand new one, old one had dirty gunk in it
-added an EK Nickel plated chipset waterblock and sold the EK FC8800GTX
-put a HR05 of the SB
-added an OCZ XTC RAM cooler

I have no idea why the paintwork is cracked like that, I will fix it sometime, also the white stuff is masking tape, my attempt to block out noise and dust, didn't have any duct tape lying around at the time

I will be changing the motherboard out to an Asus P5N32-e SLI or Asus P5K Deluxe in the next few weeks so yeah.. stay tuned :)

nice build, I am thinking of watercooling my p180 case also (can't decide if I want to use p180 or lian li pc65). How many cans of paint did you use to paint the case?

I can't help you with the pain just yet but you can do a lot to water cool a p180.

I use two cans of spraypaint for the whole case.

It's not an easy case to work with, but it can be done.

I'm thinking of changing out the fans on the radiator, they're making a annoying whining sound.

And most of the noise is coming from pump vibrations so I think I'm going to have to get some Petra's gel stuff along with a few new fans for my radiator

I've gone through quite a few changes before ending up with the current setup.

I'll probably be going back to the FuZion again in a few weeks time. :p:

Looks fantastic.

However, I'd recommend fixing one problem that will need you 2-3C.

You need to rotate your block by 90 degrees so that the GT's plate is in a "vertical" orientation.

I'm pretty sure my apogee is mounted the right way at the moment

Er...what? Are you sure you're thinking of the right block? AFAIK there's no way to mount the GT in any other orientation than the one he has it in.

This makes me wish that I actually made a worklog of all the changes that my system has (and is going through). I think that it would amount to over 50.

According to Gabe, my own observation, and Nihksub1's testing, orienting the Apogee GT in the vertical direction results in water flowing through the block in an optimal manner.

Nihksub1 mentions it here in his lengthy well documented block test: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...7&postcount=10

That's not a GT. That's a hybrid between a GT and the GTX using the GT base-plate and the GTX mounting mechanism; there's no way for him to replicate that without buying a GTX, in which case he may as well just use the GTX. Observe the difference between the block tops from that picture and the above -

-mine is just the standard Apogee not the GT

Oh, you have the original Apogee? Sorry, I was assuming it was the GT as the Apogee wasn't in production for very long. In any case, the difference was on the inside, not the outside, so it's irrelevant.

My apologies, I had assumed it was the GT when glancing over the system specs.

that's okay, the pins on my Apogee are look alot larger than the GT so that's how I figured it out. I didn't buy it, it was given to me as I upgraded from the Swiftech Storm.
I'm thinking of getting a D-Tek FuZion as my next waterblock upgrade, FuZion is one sexy block and the GTX is not bad either but I'd rather prefer the FuZion

yes you can change it to a vertical mount, its because the LGA775 mounting is a square shape so you can mount it anyway you want

right now, I really couldn't be bothered, I'll do it next time I open up my PC
that will happen when I change out the motherboard and fans on the radiator
