E4300 ,air cooling, Q644 stepping

hi,i just wanna show you my OC,and know,what do you think about this,is good?,bad?...so,the air cooling is an scythe ninja plus rev.B,the board is an asus striker extreme,2 gb g,skill ram.
the first time my 4300 up to 3.9 ghz! but not stable,just for the pick and the system power off

1.6 vcore but the system come down,because the asus striker have a great vdroop,so the 1.6 vcore that i put in bios ,not real for the micro,i hope with better cooling the E4300 go more fast that 3.4 ghz,temps, i can't take it because the system just power off

scythe ninja is a decent cooler, but i guess if you got yourself a tuniq or a thermalright ultra 120 extreme you'd be able to bench that clock! man its cold there 10 deg! lol here in the philippines its hot as hell! still awesome o/c i am also aiming for that high of an o/c! thanks!

Have you removed the IHS? I removed mine today, temps dropped by 12 degrees.

Thermal paste. All E4300 CPU's are thermal pasted :)

Damn. Thats nice. Really lucky with that chip.

I have a Q644A315 myself.

Sucker refuses to boot at anything about 3.5 Ghz. Havent tried over 1.54 real vCore though...

Very nice results with that chip man, definitely gives me hope. I'm good for over 8 hours of Orthos Small FFT's @ 3.1GHz 1.325v so far and am runnin' it again at 3.2GHz still at stock 1.325v.

Awesome thing is that this is still with the stock cooler.

Wow...I had no idea that these things were all pasted to their IHS's. I had no trouble removing a couple IHS's back in the s939 days and if this is as easy it'll definitely come in handy when I get an Ultra 120 Extreme for this chip...the temps are gonna plummet.

Oh well, for now I figure that 3.1GHz+ on 1.325v with the stock cooler and 18C room temps isn't bad, but the system's cryin' out for more cooling power.

ugh garbage on this 4300 i picked up

i cant even get it past 2.8 ghz without it crashing with 1.45 vcore. setting to 1.52 in bios passed blend after 5 hours. but at high ass temps. 100c Tjunction isnt your friend!

vdroop isnt helping. i really need to mod this board..the droop is terrible..sigh

ohwell not a daily driver anyway at high clocks, in fact ill be running it at 1.8 in the server lol

still guess this is just a hit and miss thing lately with new batchs

I never removed an IHS before. I just got a stanley knife and cut al the sides. It just felt off :P Core had almost no contact with IHS.

Sorry no pics. I can make pics from the IHS if you want, but taking the whole CPU out again is to much work ATM. (will do this weekend, need to resettle it). You need to apply thermal paste at the core offcourse.

Edit: Pics of someone else E4300 with removed IHS so not mine ;)

Ouch...I can do 3.1GHz with 1.325v 9+ hours stable in Small FFT's and I only need 1.350v for 9+ hours of 3.2GHz on the stock cooler.

When I get a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme I'll double check the stepping on the chip, but as it looks I should be able to do 3.3GHz to 3.4GHz on the stock cooler and hopefully a 100% OC with the new HSF.

I think they are soldered, you never know until you try. However I wouldn't try if you don't know for sure.

I'm almost 100% sure that the 6000 series C2D chips are all soldered to their IHS's.

Razor_Sniper, are you still using air cooling with the IHS removed on the E4300? How does it work out with the socket cover not holding the chip in place completely?

EDIT: Sorry, just realised it's not your chip that you posted a pic of.

I have my IHS also removed. I use watercooling, but because of metal clips that are in the way. I have to use a copper plate, because of this my temps suck with watercooling. I just set the cooling on it. It wil hold the cpu. This weekend I will try the boxed cooler, the base is smaller so I should not need te copper plate. Will post results then :)

Right now my temps are 50 under load in speedfan and 61 under load in TAT. (Load means, orthos ;)) This is with 1.365Vcore and 3.2Ghz. With IHS temps were 72 TAT and 64 Speedfan.
