So I have seen 2 members mention a 1.4 bios and that it increases bandwith. Anyone else hear of this bios yet, and where can I get my hands on it? I would appreciate any help as who knows when Abit will go official with 1.4

bump anyone?!
=o, wondering about this myself
Man you guys need to venture out more...

thanks nikhsub. I haven't been over there in a while. I also just got ic7_14.bin in my email box from an extremely nice fellow(thanks if your reading), and am wondering if this is any different than the ic7_025 that Manoj posted.
Hehe, me too, I have the 14 and am using it now, I was wondering the same thing...Quote:

Awsome, thanks for the link :D
Is there more memory voltage with this bios?
nope, but still worth the install
I was hoping the same thing, but I figured news like that would be everywhere.Quote:

so IC7_14 with the "f1" at stock setting gives me around 200mb more in Sandra Mem. At 285 5:4 no "f1" I get around a 120mb increase in Sandra mem. I also finally lost a second on Super PI which now has me at 40sec for 1m instead of my usual 41sec. So far a pretty good bios. Been stable so far. I amy run this for another day and then give IC7_025 from OC's a shot.
Hi guys!
The IC7-14.bin is older than the IC7-025.bin (by a day or two only).
I have been testing these beta bios for Abit.
I recommend using the IC7_025 if you are using phase cooling.
The IC7_14.bin had issues if you use phase cooling (eg Vapochill).
The problem is solved with the IC7_025.bin
I just flashed to 025....looks like some Serial ATA problems were fixed....and it looks like "Preformance Mode" is no longer here...oh well didn't work anyways.:stick:
Game Accelerator is the Performance Mode.Quote:

I noticed Game Accelerator and was wondering what it was ;)
BTW my memory benchmark scores are EXACTLY the same as they were with bios 13...so looks like no preformance diffrence but I still like that they fixed the serial ATA :D well looks like they fixed it...gota test it when I get the urge to reinstall the OS onece again:smileysex
The memory performance will only be there if you run the rams at 1:1 ratio.Quote:

The performance is minimal is you run the rams at 5:4 or 3:2 ratio.
WTF are you talking about?!?!Quote:

mabe @ the same speed....but if you want memory preformance its mostly dependent on FSB speed....I don't think you will see a comp running @ 300FSB 1:1 if so then hell ya 1:1 would be the best.
Here is a comparison of 1:1 @ max FSB and 3:2 max FSB(untill I get a better NB cooler I hope :p)
Here is 3:2
both run in 2, 6, 2, 2 timings...can run @ 2, 5, 2, 2 timings but seem to get a little more preformance out of 2, 6, 2, 2.
There is a appreciable gain on memory speed :
This was with BIOS 1.3 - 2-5-2-2
http://pprocha1.no.sapo.pt/SuperPI_35sec.jpg
And this with BIOS 025 Beta Bios - 2-5-2-2
http://pprocha1.no.sapo.pt/SuperPI_34sec.jpg
Sandra goes from 5.800 to 6.000 MBs
:)
I am saying that at 1:1 ratio you will see a bigger gain from the 2 bios than what you will see from 5:4 and 3:2 ratios.Quote:

At 1:1 ratios I say about 350mb/s increase.
At 5:4 and 3:2 ratios there was less of an increase. May be about 200mb/s.
Still good though.
I am still working with Abit on the bios. May see if I can get another beta from them.
=o :D

What kind of comparison is that.......... you have to run the CPU FSB at the same speed for it to be honest.Quote:

Example..... OCZ PC3700 Gold I run 1:1 at 255fsb. Now at 1:1 all my benches will be higher than 5:4 at 255fsb and 3:2 at 255fsb. You won't really see much if you have a 433 limit on your Ram. So of course a 600mhz or more increase in cpu speed is gonna make a big difference.
Wow...the new 25 beta bios fixed my problem running Corsair 3200LL. I can now boot in to WindowsXP from SPD settings. I couldn't ever do that with 13 bios without moving the ram timings to the lowest possible setting.
bios 025 beta 2-5-3-2.....
