Watercooling vs aircooling

I now have a good watercooling kit(not installed yet) which i bought very cheap(50 euros) these are the parts:

MCW6002
MCW 50
MCW 20(i'm not planning to use this one)
MCP600
BIX II
swiftech micro res

I doubt of selling this kit and buy a good air cooler(maybe the new one from thermalright or the geminii which is only 30 euro here) or keep this kit and install it.

I want to overclock my e6600 (gooood overclocker) because it can do 3.25ghz on 1.18v, so want to run like 3,6/3,7ghz 24/7.

What do you guys is the diffrent between a highend aircooler(the new ones with 8 heatpipes) and this watercooling kit? Is it the watercooling "effort" worth?

With water cooling you get two things, first it runs a lot quiter than airwith the correct setup, and secondly it can be much cooler than air b ut saying this there are some good HSF coming out now, but if it was me i would go with the water setup as you will have this installed and if you want to push it more you could alsways get some better fans for the rad which will give better cooling.

I say: go for aircooling. It doesn't leak, way less work, cheaper, smaller, LAN-friendly, easier to install and a €30,- HSF like the Geminii is way better then that water cooling kit you've got. The difference in temps between water and air isn't that big anyway.;)

In my experience watercooling has a very steep learning curve, and there's many things that can go awfully wrong in the road to a loop that's worth the money, the time and the hassle.

IMHO overclocking a e6600 alone is not a good reason to go watercooling. With the money, time and effort you need to invest to assemble a loop that makes a noticeable difference over a tuniq tower, you've hit the point of diminishing returns even before you start planning.

Get a decent air cooler and use the time and the money to do something more rewarding.
