The Q6600 is a winner , no need to switch from Conroe to K10
Half of current prices! Thats a lot of money off.
Perhaps the E6550 will overclock to at least 3GHz?...perhaps even more.
That's cheap.
Except it's not really a Quad. :)
Maybe this is in preperation of K10 kicking Core 2's ass?
266$ that means 266 or 250 Euro for Europe plus taxes, but still nice price cut.
Really sick prices coming up.
It will be very difficult for AMD i guess =(
If this is true..
Maybe. Lets hope so, will make Intel work harder and drop prices more.Quote:

AMD might be 40% up in performance but then Intel counter the only way they can by massive price drop.
All good for the consumer, either you go high and pay but get massive performance, or else you pay a pretty small amount and get pretty good performance.
If these numbers are true.

Andy
because K10 is coming :DQuote:

Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.40 GHz/4MB L2 x 2/1066MHz FSB), which has been launched on Jan 7, is planned to be cut from $851 to $530, a 37.7% off
And now the Q6700 is rumored to be at this price. I hope they didn't made a glitch :p: .
Quad-Core for the masses .. I like.
i thought this was already older news?I thought they announced the price-drops for the 22nd of april??But there was no talk about the Q6700 then?
wow, did Intel seen already some K10 benches?
If the price cuts gets even bigger maybe I'll upgrade my second rig next year :woot:

Urm… isn’t that the price per if u buy 1000.. and not the retail price for one..
Not really my opininion:slapass: I know for you hardware-freaks,who spend all their money at hardware,2007 is a wet dream come true...But for us"casuals"it's getting pretty confusing...I already been looking for a new rig for more than 8 months now,and still i'm not sure what to get,due to the massive amount of rumors and stuff:confused:Quote:

I don't think you really need to upgrade your CPU.
