The basic bios settings for Asus Commando and some bench using TGX DDR800/1000

I just got this board and have it go through some time.
It's quite a nice board and easy to get on high fsb: high ram freq.;
I just would like to share my settings for those who still not really get on the right track,
therefore, I won't post the board and introduce those rich functions.
let's just go directly to the parts you guys concern about.

here are all the tweaking settings::

1. Here I have to suggest you if you have meter, go measure every points; because you need to trust what you measure not those numbers from motherboard monitor of BIOS. From the PIC below, besides Vcore due to Vdroop that I need to set 1.5v to obtain 1.43v, the others voltages are way greater than what I set here.

here we have all the memory parameters setting; be sure that your ram can handle those settings, or you can give safe settings first. Most likely Team Group's
DDR800 3-3-3-8/DDR1000 5-4-4-12 can do that like my settings here.

remember that you will need to disable those annoying settings here in order to overclock well.

I´ll try those voltages in few minutes.

Hope that it will let me go for 500+ FSB, because now I am stuck at 480 Mhz.

Have tried lots of combinations of voltages, but only can boot at 480 max, and clockgen freezes at 485... :(:(

In few minutes will post if they have worked for me...

EDIT:

Tried same config as yours... doesnt work for me. Mobo doesnt boot up.

Reduced FSB to 510 --> no go, 500 --> no go... :(

I dunno what is happening with this mobo, but I cant get it to boot past 480 FSB... :(

BTW, wich BIOS version are you using?? Because mine doesnt show vCore in red with 1.500v... :confused: :confused:

ok folks, here are some 1st step of getting super pi ,

pretty much just look at the clock gen and newer memset,
timings are all set as pretty tight, so you know how to adjust them.:)

Sorry, here are my specs:

- Mobo: Asus Commando (Obviously... :D )
- CPU: C2D E6600 Retail (L629A)
- Memory: Some D9 GMH 2x1024 (have TeamXtreem 6400C4 and Ballistix 6400C4, I got the same problems in the commando with the two kits that run perfect in my old P5W DH... :slapass: )
- PSU: Enermax Noisetaker 600W
- VGA: tried 7900GTX, 8800GTS and crappy 6200TC
- HD´s: 2x160Gb raid 0, 1x120Gb

Bios version: tried 0601 and 0702, with the same results...

Max FSB that I can boot is 480, and it is very unstable.

Tried all combinations of volts, multiplier, fsb, and also the options that you posted on your first post, it doesnt boot at more than ~480...

Any ideas? Or I have a very lazy commando?? :slapass: :slapass:

Maybe FSBWall.
I had 6600 (631A) and he has FSBWall at 485Mhz

Yeah, I am thinking in this posibility too...

It´s strange, because I can do a Dual Spi 32Mb @ 480, but upping to 485 with clockgen freezes the computer... so, it seems to me a nice FSB wall in the CPU... :fact:

I´ll try another C2D to see if it is the motherboard or the CPU. :(

At least, the CPU is not mine, hope it will be this C2D... :D

I have no problems hitting 500+ on mine,and that with running single channel(until Cell Shock comes in tomorrow) 1142mhz Corsair Dom.

Of course,i am using the lower multi if that matters...

Can someone please rehost the pictures from the start of the thread please?

I have Commando and Teamgroup when I install memset put in some timings and restart it either blue screens right away and I have to boot into safe mode to disable it or once booted into windows and I open memset all timings are blank except the last few which are all 15:confused: .

I went back to memset later and set some looser timings than before and when I booted into windows right when everything is done loading the computer locks and a high pitched squeal came out of my speakers :confused: almost made me def

forgot to mention when my computer did boot up with no blue screen or high pitch noise, this is when it did not show any timings when I opened up cpu-z there was no timings shown was just all blank

any guesses what is up with that or what am I doing wrong
