9700 vs Tt BT vs Infinity vs Ninja @ XbitLabs

I think this review is one of the best reviews ever sine they tested using default fans and using a powerful fan , beside testing INSIDE a closed case and in OPEN-AIR

95% of the results shows that the BT is better than the Inf & Ninja, except when the inf has 2 fans on it

the 9700 only wins in a single case which i think is very weird

to bad that they didn't include the Tuniq in their tests

I think the Inf will out-perform the Tuniq and the BT if they can install a fan inside it they way it is installed in the Tuniq, since the Inf has 5 heatpipes not only 3

It's great to see the BT as formidable, so many people wrote it off without even considering it just because it was TT. I also wish they could've included the Tuniq, and the Ultra-120 as well :fact:

Strange results. With Opteron 146@ 2800/1.6V I have in this moment 44*C with SETI 24/7 using Ninja + stock fan, without a case, thermal paste - some cheap Titan. So where this 71*C came from???

ps. All temperatures from Core Temp.

the closed case results are faulty. Look at the case the have, the BT has another 120mm fan blowing directly at it, while the infinity has no type of solution. I would only look at the open case results in which the infinity with two fans owns on the core 2 duo test.

The Infinity scales very well with high heat....check the Pentium D results....just seems like it needs a duct, or a cover....

most fo us use cases with a side fan blowing towards the mobo, so those results are very important to users with cases like that ( including me )

Glad I just bought my BT :thumbsup:
..and already modded it, of course, witch will buy me some extra degrees i'm sure. Didn't had the time to test it with the mod but it keep my E6400 @ 3.2 at 41ºC. And you gotta remember thar the BT is the only one that blows air down on the mobo components, witch is good.
Not bad at all for an "last year" cooler.

i bought the BT not the Tuniq for 2 reasons

one of them u already metioned and the other is that i have a side 120mm fan which will be blowing air towards the BT, which i am sure will help in cooling very much

I have both a TTBT, which I used with a Globalwin NCB 1200rpm fan on a naked 3000+ at 2.5Ghz and 1.525V, and a Ninja, which is being used on my current set up. Performance is pretty similar but the Ninja is much, much quieter. I think that is an important factor that the author ignores.

how come the Ninja is much quiter, are u using the same fan on both ???

AFAIK the stock Tt fan which comes with the BT is very quiet

My computer is pretty much silent; the noisiest things in my case are the two 900rpm exhaust fans. The stock TT fan is louder than the Globalwin I used, but the TTBT needs a fan that can generate a lot of pressure to push the air through the thinly spaced fins. The beautiful thing about the Ninja is that it is designed for slow speed fans so it can produce results that compare to the TTBT but with a 800rpm fan.

Interesting... the noisiest in my system - and I guess I'm not alone with that -
is the graphics cooler. What do you cool your gfx card with?

Amazing how the Big typhoon is able to out perform the rest in the close case tests...

I have a BT on my old SD 3700+ im getting like 44c load temps, would this mean that the C2D at 3.4Ghz 1.5v runs cooler than the 3700+ ?

what is ur room temp ?? compare it to the room temp where the tests taken place

also they mentioned that they have a side fan blowing towards the BT , do u have a similar setup ?

My X1900 is fitted with a Thermalright V1 Ultra and 2 80mm fans (1 80x15mm and one 80x25mm). When in 2D mode both fans are at 5V and keep the GPU in the high 40's with no noise at all. Therefore, I am looking into getting a X1950XTX cooler, as this is apparently 10db less noisy than the stock X1900 cooler and exhausts hot air directly from the case.

Nice.
The AC Silencer-type coolers would still be a bit noisier than that IME/IMO,
unless you adjust voltage. And be careful with the capacitators, they are
not cooled (needs airflow in the case).

I dont have any means to measure my room temp yet, i also dont have a side fan blowing on the BT, on the same spot where the BT sucks air my casing has a blow hole for that ( fanless, Praetorian 730 case )

Now what id like to see is the Ultra-120 vs the BT.. cant decide which one to get for my C2D system

Yeah, I have ran 1.6V's into my 4400 X2 and it went no way near 71*c :stick:

However, it was NOT X2!

2xcore + 2x1MB cache + 1,6V = 71*C quite possible, but not with 1xcore+1x512k+1.65V+2.8GHz on Ninja. I had similar setup and was quite far from that.
