Lookin for a couple of "yeah that looks good to me" before firing this baby up, mainly wanna double check the ground location or to ask if anyone found a different mod location that might not be under insulation like this one ;)

you have a lot of pins where both 6-pin conectors from PSU comes, botom ones are all ground and very easy to solder on
that's for ground
Hmm so you think this isn't a good idea? I ohm'd it out and it was 0 resistance this point to the card flange.
no, if it is ground, that it shouldn't be a problem, i just rather use the obvious point, big, easy to solder :DQuote:

Sorry for the delay guys, no this is not working. 500K does not change vcore over the full 20 turns of potentiometer. To clarify this is the correct mod location as shown by Shimano. I need to do a couple of things to figure out whats going on. 1 check my pot, 2 try another ground. Also wondering if the length of the wires has anything to do with it, card is running perfectly.
I moded my GTX with 200 Ohm VR and work ok, but ... wall at 680MHz :confused:
For ground I used fan conector.

Is that 200Ohm your final resistance to the circuit or the VR's total resistance - you should clarify this. Anyway with a 200Ohm final resistance, the voltage gain under load is aprox. +0,16v (1.26v default [load] | 1,42v modified [load] | 1,49v modified [idle]). I believe poor cooling keeps you at 680 not voltage.Quote:

Well sounds weird already, I guess either you are either unlucky with the card or something else is wrong. I suggest you use a fixed resistance not a VR and try again. I use a 150Ohm fixed resistance and I get 1,55v [idle] and 1,48~1,49v [load]. I have similar cooling to yours (chilled water) and run fine at 730 core. Do you provide adequate cooling to power mosfets etc?

Yes. Every GTS/GTX is identical at the moment. Same pcb --> Same mods.
