That was unexpected indeed! Hope they will have voltage adjustment options.
strangely enough I like that
Wonder if Mushkin will follow the trend too...
 what will be next? BFG and EVGA MEMORY sticks?
“The Way It’s Meant To Be Sold”
Today anyone with enough money and marketing respectability could sign a deal with NVIDIA, and could start selling VGA’s. Point is that all the big e-retail names like BFG, EVGA, and now OCZ, do not manufacture cards! NVIDA sells them full cards in cooperation with manufacturing partners. There’s not much of them, and who they are is held as business secret.
Same business NVIDIA is trying to pull of with the 680i motherboards. eVGA was the first, but ECS was unexpectedly showed it self with the same mobo reviling who the manufacturing partner is.
Very interesting news indeed. I wonder how much from the norm their cards will differ ? Hopefully it will not just be a different sticker like the majority of 8800's.
Regards
Andy
Im afraid this is the case 99% of the time. All reference...some with different coolers and slightly higher clocks.Quote:

And OCZ is quite good at it
I wonder if OCZ has enough "juice" and projected sales volume to get Nvidia give them a custom cooler and a unique PCB color from Nvidia's manufacturing partner? OCZ may have enough brand identity to secure a portion of the market, but do they have something up their sleeve that will make them a leader in the video card market?
Well, as a consumer I wouldn't mind the PCB color.Quote:

Custom cooler from nVIDIA ? Don't think so ( and it's def. not money related )
Custom cooler from Arctic Cooling ? Easy :D [ Hint "Avoid Accelero-like designs, preffer DHES ] { DHES = Direct Heat Exhaust System }
Warranty period, RMA Service, Tech Support, and maybe speed-binning would help a lot, and give OCZ an "edge".
Ah the joys of branding, thing is how many manufacturers are actually making their own designs anymore?
Hope they won't go with their trend to sometimes favor bling-bling over efficiency.
woah... some good news :D
That was totally unexpected...hopefully these will be some good cards.
8800gxtc anyone ?
8800 GTX Gold, Platinum, then TI Version 2 weeks later.
It's not that surprising, I mean Crucial did it before with some ATI cards.
dont think so, mushkin said no to cpu coolers a while back. they are focused in getting the big comp manufacturers to buy mushkin ramQuote:

Oh man, this is some sweet news....and I also hope that it'll be more than a sticker, but if a sticker is what nV wants, a sticker is what nV gets.
EDIT:
WOOOO!!!!Quote:
