nice going TaPaKaH for making such a complete poll in your last thread ;)
anyway.
again: if there all WR's @ hwbot, i'll vote for them ;)
the thing is that its up to the WR holder to submit their own result at HWBot, its not like other sites that rip other peoples result for their own site.
Vote 1 HWBot
As one of ripping.org creators I voted for our site, but may be we can cooperate with hwbot and "unite forces" :D
joining forces is what it is all about, streamlining the submissions at hwbot is pretty much automated by using a forum to post results, you don't even need to visit the hwbot site if you don't want to;
we only need manual "labor" to filter through the submissions to block fake results, fix wrongly matched hardware (matching algorithm improves over time) and it will provide a comparison database which will be more complete and have more useful information for hardware enthusiasts then any other on the web.
but without a community and people backing it up, the site is nothing, and RB knows that too, he's not challenging anybody that his site is superior because he created it, it's about using the easiest and quickest method to get data collected and use it to drive the community; the HWBoints rankings and inter-team challenges which can be created at the HWBot site are imho a very nice way to put intra-forum as inter-forum competition in the spotlight and make the "benchmarking" hobby more attractive then just to those who have the fastest gear and can claim #1 spot in one benchmark.
well.. that's my 2 cents anyway
hey look I have the fastest 3200+ Newcastle in the world with PCMark 2004 ;)
+1 hwbot

I think that ripping and hwbot are two different databases.
Ripping was originally a CPU MHz OC database with added benches (SuperPi, 3DMark) just for laugh :)
Hwbot, on the other side is more like a "benchmark database" - there is not much going about the CPU OC WRs, but the SuperPi / 3DMark DB is really great ...
like not having a CPU overclocking ranking for each CPU model? a global ranking? an intel/amd ranking? oh come on :slap:Quote:

I like Hwbot's features but ripping.org has the most up to date records database.
excuse me, I need to get some benching done. have dropped 20 ranking points in last 2 weeks in Hwbot!
+1 vote for hwbot :)
I really love all the effort is doing hwbot and their rankings, but I must say thanks too to ripping.org for their work. All overclockers must be happy of getting guys like gianni or massman who does free super job for our community.
Btw I voted for hwbot.
Thanks
I liked Nicke's database when it was being updated. One of the problems I have with hwbot is that most of the submissions are from the US and Europe. Very few results from Asian benchers. So in that sense, it's not very complete. For Pi rankings, Bunny's and Holicho's databases are still the best IMO.
The other problem with many databases, including Nicke's, is that they usually recognize only those using extreme cooling. Can't there be world records for people using air or water too?
hwbot offcourse :toast:
but air or water WRs include also air-chilled and water-chilled, so it's just a question of temperature thereQuote:

So you can at least see if you have the best 32M air time, even if you are not the overall world record holder.Quote:

We are really hoping this could change. Dunno if it's about language barrier.Quote:

One day looked promising but many of these guys did not go much beyond registration.
All credits go to Richba5tard, hwbot starter, owner, coder, ...Quote:

For me hwbot is the only real solution.
Nicke's and ripping.org are good, but are not as easy to maintain and submit to as hwbot. I also think it's important for the individual record holders to submit their scores themselves.
The depth that hwbot provides is unbeatable and simply unpheasable with a manually updated site. Over 21,000 results already with hundreds being submitted daily, there is just no way a manually updated site could compete.
For me, hwbot is the YouTube of overclocking ;)........is anyone from google here at XtremeSystems?
I agree, hwbot is better in general, but as a replacement for NICKE`s database where one can easily browse many CPU OC WRs I think our site is better.
No offence, I don`t want to start hwbot vs. ripping battle - let`s just say that both sites are good.
But there still remains one problem - the old NICKE`s database ... something should be done with it because not updated threads shouldn`t be sticky.
I suggest PMing some mod of "Xtreme OC" section mod to do sth about it.
