yikes, not to impressed with x-bit's review. Mybe Asus's version will do better, regardless of how ugly it is.

The power consumpstion on the X-bit review was eye opening

No tests with QX is a bit dissapointing as it would be nice to see if the processor has FSB troubles as Fugger and it looks Kingpin had while using the board.

I think this is more related to BIOS immaturity - not the board itself.

Any word on the 650i Ultra?
I'm planning a Core 2 Duo build, non-SLI/Xfire, and the features on this board seem right about perfect for what I'll be doing.
I'm just wondering if the OC ability on this board has been intentionally crippled, like it was with the 500-series.

And I apologize for the off-topic, btw, but this question is not worthy of starting a new thread.

Both used different loading applications and TechReport even included monitor`s and speakers` power consumption in the graf. But 975 and 965 consumptions show opposite behavior.

I was more concerned regarding the hughe difference of 20-30W(well even up to 50w) at Xbit

At least the AT article points out the craptastic placement of the front panel connectors. Talk about dumb. I like the layout otherwise. Not sure I'll upgrade from my DS3 though, gaming benches look about the same. My E6600 isn't a golden chip anyways.

I already sold my P5W-DH, gonna order this one as soon as I have the money. (its in stock at my vendor in NL)

The P5W makes me cry every night when I go to bed :'( cant even get 360x10 orthos stable with both a retail E6700 and a E6700 ES B1.... like..... dude

That is funny other website review no more than 449 FSB I think was xbitlabs something like that.

Of the EVGA(ref)/Asus/Abit boards it certainly looks like the Abit 680i is the best layout (IMHO) until they fix that front panel thing.


ATI/DFI's turn...

ATI mobo I saw somewhere stated it looked like a Q1 2007

BTW...is there a vdroop on this mobo?

Vdroop is for Intel chipsets, not third party ones.

yeah xbit had issues going over 449FSB :confused: and the memory didnt seemingly overclock that well compared to the 965,

The same cpu used in xbit easily hit 500fsb on 965 board but couldnt do over 449 on the evga.. Maybe it needs a new bios? :D

Maybe so, but i'm totally not happy with my 975x board, so gonna buy it anyway :P

Anybody test asus striker extreme? Amazing mobo, i think so:)
