We ran an P5W DH with X6800 more than 7 hours using dryice and a... really bad brazed container. Mounting was terrible, no donout unter the holddown plate... but the insulation with armaflex and nail polish worked very good (better than expected)...
Next time i'll use plastic spray and more armaflex (and a better container) to avoid condensation 100%...
This is how I insulated my DQ6 for few weeks until I RMAed the board due to an issue unrelated to phase usage. Only neoprene and PCB laquer.

No grease and RMA friendly too.
i really like the work of barbonenet on the bad axe, he use only neopren...
bat condensor on that board are not so confortable for insulation.

Nailpolish ALL OVER, load of grease in the sockets, grease on the caps, and closed cell foam. Looking back it was massive overkill for dry ice but after hearing of all the deaths I wasn't taking any chances.

I only placed neophrene on my first try (mach2 gt modded) but this was no good..
Got condensation, board dried 3 days and booted up fine @air, now I'm going to use nail polish, grease and neophrene and it should be fine imo :)
What about the use of brush-on or spray-on Conformal Coatings instead of nail polish? I know MG Chemicals makes some silicone based ones. :confused:
Small amount of nail polish over critial areas.
Then use Neoprene cut to create a seal over the CPU when donut fitted.
Added some grease/vaseline over any "holes" tho it's not been necessary so far after 6+ hour DICE session and multiple phase runs.
Neoprene, Nail Polish, grease on socket and lots on board....
LOL, i live at 95% Humidity. anything below ambient = condensate...
now im going phase 24/7 condensate free... of course with Aircon turned on.... Humidity su@ks.. :mad:

Anyway... I have nailpolish on smd's and legs of mosfets and other components, then around the base of caps and anything that has any air under it insulated with silicone.
Around the socket insulated with silicone, inside filled with grease.
Neoprene cut too fit AROUND torroidals and caps and then sealed with silicone in case of any gaps.
Foam used to fill in gaps in socket, one piece fell off for this picture (you can see where) but I put it back on.
Retension bar insulated in silicone.
Rear of board has a 6mm thick piece of neoprene attached with silicone.

I use a bit of a mix I use a rear plate with a mach2 heater element in the bottom and dielectric grease and seal string for the front neoprene gaskets and dielectric grease, this combo has seen me through both mach2 and cascade with no problems

Glad I stumbled upon this thread. I just picked up a VapoLS which will be here this week and I've been trying to decide on exactly which measures I should take to condensation-proof my setup. It looks like the general consensus is that greasing the socket is the way to go. I don't particularly want to do this as I may be upgrading mobo's soon and cleaning up that mess can't be fun. I have seen a few posts where people claim that just the foam will be good enough on a stock LS.
So the question is... To cake the socket, or not to cake the socket?
One more thing; any specific type of nail polish that works best (preferably clear)?
