Mach II Modded

I decided that i will make SS in one of Mach cases. Today i got it back from painting, tomorrow i will braze new evap and suction line for it.
I will use original mach condensor + desuperheater and little stronger fan on it. I also make little hole for on/off switch on the back side of the case, because i will not use original mach controler. :)

what's the plans for this? a customers unit?

any special features coming up on this unit?
gas? 507 as standard those days?

Gas will be R402a.

Original Mach 2 has about 10 - 15c higher temps on load.

You're making this Mach into what it really should have been in the first place. Clean and powerful.

I've been doing the 'original condensor with desuperheater' for a while now and other than the very best aftermarket condensors I haven't found much difference.

It's a shame to have to up the fan power (and noise) but these condensors REALLY perform with extra fan power.

As for comparisons, I don't think there will be ANY comparisons when it's done :D

FYI:

Original Mach II 134a - -10 to -15 at 150w

Mach II GT 404a Unmodded - -20 to -25 at 150w

Mach II with upgraded Evap - -35 to -45 depending on gas

Knowing LD's work, it's much more likely to be closer to -45 at that load :D

Nice work, looks very clean.

Shame that there's no controller, but considering all the problems with Asus Conroe boards lately, maybe that's not a bad idea :rolleyes:

Pressure testing now... Than i will try how much difference is between temp if you put k-type on the top of evap (suction hose) or if you put it on the side of evap.

That's a good idea. I doubt it will be a huge difference, but it's something I've been curious about but never have enough time to check on every unit :rolleyes:

Controllers aren't always needed, and really for a benching system all you need to know is what temp for booting and that it's holding the load, and a K-Probe does that just fine.

I've got a couple of chassis sitting around here myself and when I get around to putting them back together I'll be painting them up nice too. It really looks great :toast:

-52 degrees measured exactly... what is the mach display showing ;) ?

Difference between display and correct value seems to be larger i ever thought... but i'm not building units ;)

On suction line I`ve got about 10*C lower temps than on side of evap, quick test, must do more

By the way I dont see a probe on your evap, is it on the back of the evap or something? That can't be that accurate.

I've also seen the same 10C Luke, thats why I do a drop of thermal paste on the lower side and then tape it on.

personally this generates the most heat love to see what temps ya get on your conroe :toast:
