First test Cellshock 1000 on P5W64-WS PRO !!!

:D O.K. - here are first results. All done with BIOS 0209 and 2.4 Vdimm (Vmem):

As You can see the RAM on this board is limited by the 975 chipset and/or BIOS. Will try 0215 BIOS next days......

Hard to find stability - can only be fixed by a better BIOS released by ASUS (maybe 0215?) or we have to wait for RD600 and buy again a DFI board..

When trying lots of settings I can feel the RAM can do a lot more.

Finally one question, where is the point in searching for the highest mem frequency?

Almost the same SP1M result - same CPU speed. So why all the work?

:D :D Very Very nice stuff. Good to hear these PC6400 sticks work well on this board :) Now ive got to seel my GEIL, which for some reason wont boot up @ 4-4-4-12 1:1 past 350FSB.

1:1 no divider - faster in your case...

if u want to play with dividers and RAM MHz you´ll need some more MHz than "only" 1084...

Memory doesn't matter as much in 1M or 2M as in 16M or 32M because of the large L2-cache on Conroe, and that's the reason you only see slight improvement with all that memoryspeed. Try running a comparison on 32M or maybe some 3d (3dm01 loves the memoryspeed) :)

:D Thanks - I see. Will try the 0215 BIOS tonite. On this board/chipset I can get better results and more stability when running 1:1 with tighter timings.

Finally the RAM & CPU is better than chipset and/or BIOS, so my hopes are high on RD600..........:)

:D Lowered the Vdimm down to 2.25, timings now 3-4-3-4, read delay 5 and voila, 32M below 14min at only 3.6GHz :

:cool: Just flashed 0215 BIOS but bandwith and 32M was a bit lower in my tests.

Will flash back to 0209 later and make some furter tests for compario. Maybe 0209 BIOS is better.

BTW - 0215 enables installation of MARVEL RAID for those who need.

Wow very good pair of ram you got there , but your 32m seems to me a bit low, I have the exact same time with "only" 3.7ghz on the CPU and 4-4-3-8 on SuperT cl4 /too bad Intel 975XBX have only 2.2v without mod:( / And my e6600 is trothling with box cooler :p: and in second part of the test it is slowing by a margin./

:D To stop boring You all I skipped some Mhz and now we have here DDR2-900 C3 with 2.58 Vdimm and read delay still at 5. The Vdimm was measured by a multimeter:

Remember this is RAM out of the box and on an unmodded board except of the Vdimm pencil mod.

I'm not sure how much voltage this RAM can bare but hipro did some tests at crazy 3.4 Vdimm so I think I'll go up to my max. of 2.85.

If I should need more I have to pencil again........... :stick:

Oh, and I almost forgot - now with 4:5 divider. Unfortunately I only can use multi 9 ( known problem with the changable multi in BIOS but non-working in Windows) cause my CPU maxes out at 9 x 445.

Done with 2.66 Vdimm - can't try for more cause my CPU is maxed out on water at 4GHz...........:(
