Yay, so I have just managed my new "bests", this time with CORSAIR 6400C3! Not only max 32M stable clocks has changed but also Max CPU-Z Validation rose to DDR2-1010 8-3-3-3.0 !!!

Stay tuned guys, I will very soon have another 2GB set from a different vendor this time. First, there will be an OCing Report and then "let's the toasting begin" :lol:

...amen to that my friend. this should be the first thread i see DDR1000 3-3-3-x on AM2 and on a little 570 SLI board to boot. you never cease to amaze BA...i look forward to the rest. its too bad more guys weren't playing with this memory on AM2.

I saw 3,12v on my pc6400 ballistix and they're still alive :D So you have some more in it... :toast: Nice kit you got there, i wasnt able to go higher than 460 IIRC.

you're confusing DDRI voltages with DDR2 voltages :D

3,12v ??? :eek: :eek: on what type of cooling?

The Asus Crosshair goes up to 3.3v with stock bios. I should try out the VX2 with alittle higher voltage after I get an FX-62

Call me blind, but I can't see 3.0+vdimm anywhere o.O

Michal, you rock man. I have these same modules and am going to see if I can even come remotely close to your results. I don't even think my VX2 (also GMH) will match that.

I'm not sure you could come close to my results with a Intel processor. I havent seen many people reaching almost 600 mhz on thier memory. Please let me know how you do.

oh yes... I was able to get into windows with my VX2 memory @ DDR2-1200.. But the processor wasnt too stable. I have a 4600+ comming very soon.

So far I kind of focused on getting better 1M and 32M times at 475-480Mhz CAS3 respectively, becasue I noticed that my initial 1M time was pretty sad... I will upload new screen later (better by 0.500s). But still, it's no secret that at the same CPU speed of 2850MHz, 1M & 32M times at CAS3 (475MHz) are a bit worse than at CAS4 (570Mhz). Higher bandwidth catches up and passes low latency performance.
One thing that I have to figure out so far, is why I can't get any better 32M stable CAS4 clocks than what I have already got before vdimm mod, at 2.5v - DDR2-1140 8-4-4-4.0. I can screenshot at DDR2-1200 but it's nowhere near stable. CPU is stable up to 2950MHz, so I should be able in theory to do 32M at 590Mhz, but I just can't get it done :( I tried with different RAM and same thing - better clocks at CAS3, but same at CAS4... Odd, but I will try to find out what is up.

My goal at CAS3 is 32M @ DDR-960, so I will be bumping vdimm to 2.9v soon...

@ arisythila,

ASUS Crosshair goes up to 3.3vdimm? Can you post a pic of BIOS for me, please? Hehe, DFI NF4 spoiled people with 4v for DDR, now it looks like ASUS is doing the same for DDR2 - too easy :lol:

On that photo, I have a fan blowing across the board, stuffed between video card and a heatsink... It works fine, but I repositioned it later a bit, and now it blows on DIMMs very nicely. Sticks are a bit warm to the touch.

Yeah, I remember that, Denny :) I'm not sure how far vdimm will go after vdimm mod (^don.k's^ did 3.1v on his M2N-E) but I think I will stop at 2.9v. Those sticks don't really scale very well past 2.7v.

Did you try looser alpha timings and the like? I'm sure you know this but the higher the CPU clock the harder it is the run high mem clocks with tight timings.

My 3800+ can't pass dual 32m stable higher than 2.85 which is why I haven't bothered VDIMM modding my foxconn but 3-3-3-5 runs look fun.

i still need to double check to verify, but it seems that tighening some timings can negatively effect cpu clock, even when ram is running at way low speeds. :confused2
