Vapochill LS + Asus P5B-Deluxe Cold Boot Issues

I found a great deal on a Vapochill that I will be installing 2morrow night. However, I understand that the vapochill is linked to your case Power SW, and also your Mobo SW.

I have the P5B-Deluxe cold boot issue where it starts up for 1 second, automatically shuts itself down, then restarts itself. This happens very often.

If the vapochill is linked to my mobo, wont this create tons of startup issues for me? How can I avoid this?

I was thinking of jumping an old PSU, but then how would I jump the vapo controller? Any help would be appreciated before my install 2morrow night.

About Vapo, I think you must just try how it will work with that unnormal mobo start.

Yeah it does the same to a mach2 stops and starts after each bios tweak its a pita

Actually, I got a reply from an Asus contact about the auto power down and power up function on P5W DH if it's same as P5B DX:

We added a 5 seconds delay in out controllers because of that, I don't know if you can set that in the chill control board, but maybe if you can link the vapo to other psu, at leat the cable that reads psu current, that can fix your problem.

Plug in the Vapo to an external PSU?

And how do I jump the PW SW pins on the vapo controller. Do I just use a piece of wire and jump the two pins on the controller card for a second or so?

What does it detect, couldnt you get a wall adapator transformer and wire it in?

I don't see why you should have a problem. The Vapochill goes on first. When it gets down to the (user) set start temperature it will switch on the pc. It's not like it will turn itself off just because your pc does a reboot - there is a delay built in.

P.S. I'll be verifying this issue (Ernesto permitting) this weekend when my P5B DLX and E6400 arrive.

What happens is. You press the power button on your case. The vapo would warm up, than the mobo/hardware would fire up. After about 1 second of mobo startup the P5b-deluxe decides to completely kill power and restart. I can only imagine this putting the vapo into shutdown mode....

I am well aware of the P5B-Deluxe cold boot double start issue. I just want to be prepared for what should happen when my vapo experiences this 2morrow night.

The vapo (at least mine) waits a few seconds before shutting down - so as long as the P5B restarts right away you shouldn't have any problems.
