Interesting, did you try it?
Hmm, pain in the neck to have to call MS to get it. Any links to direct download?
Wow in for later this looks very interesting.
Thought it said the files are already in sp2 and to just add the registry key. :confused:Quote:

shouldn't disabling EIST and C1 in the bios eliminate this since those are the power saving features?

tried the one linked above... didn't do anything.
Thing bothering me was bootup, takes like 8-9 bars and my A64 rig took as few as 4. (this is after same optimizations)
Then again, I'm using XP Pro for the A64, and MCE for the C2D.
someone host this please. need to remove link soon.

It is the right one. It links back to the multiprocessor hotfix page.
Re: Own a Dual Core, Perf issues? Need the Hotfix?

link above 251321_ENU_i386_zip.exe is the correct one.
has anyone installed this hotfix and notice an improvement yet?
Uhhhh....wonder how much performance diff it makes.
Hmm, haven't heard that before. It's suppose to be for dual core...not AMD specifically...Or am I miss reading something?
File re-hosted:Quote:
