Excellent find!
Cooool, was just going to post this exact question! Opp, you taking up mind reading? :D
Gord.
so where can i dload a nforce2 datasheet or what its called :D
you cant change without this file.. or am i missin sumthin
Which one is it??? This one?:stick:
:confused:
That would look to be the one, but why is it set at 9F? Did you change it from 0F? Or does it vary based on which NF2 board you have?....hmmm....maybe time to break out wpcredit myself.
Making this one a sticky for awhile OPP, thanks for your due diligence in finding/or developing this register fix:thumbsup:
Randi:D
mine was 0F on 8rda+.thanks opp:D
No I didn't change it...thats what it is set to on my NF7-S Rev 2.0:stick: should I change it:confused:Quote:

Well I just got done trying it and can confirm it works :)
Thanks OPPAINTER
aNy more?! cmon there has to be.. not just this stop bit disconnect..
I was able to use this fix...but how do you save it so when you reboot you still have those settings???
Hmm...this seems to not work well with the NF7-S Rev 2.0....when I try to play games like C&C Generals it locks up after like 3 mins when I have it set to 1F....if its set to the default 9F its just fine.Strange:smileysex
Whenever I enable 1F my system locks up and I have to reboot. WTH? Am I doing something wrong? I had to use GoBack to get my computer to load after it froze!!
Wheres a good place (link) to get some info on how to use wpcredit?
its not hard to use.. heres my guide dood on another forum http://www.dslreports.com/forum/rema...cusa~mode=flat
i made it for others like u :)
So what, does the nforce2 chipset not allow the system idle process to get to the CPU without this register set?
how low is low the idle temp?
I assume that some of you have already tried "CPU Disconect" but doesn't work for you either huh?
At 9F the disconnect bit is already set;Quote:

0F = 00001111
1F = 00011111
9F = 10011111
Dunno what the leftmost bit is doing, my 1.2 won't let me set it. It just gets reset straight back. The 2.0 has CPU Disconnect in the BIOS anyway doesn't it? Check the value of register 6F with this option enabled/disabled.
I've found the results from this to be pretty minor compared to the temperature drop I used to get on my KX7-333. It only goes down 3-4 degrees for me. :(
Nice info, I'm gonna have to give it a go.
Is that needed on the rev2.0? or does CPU disconnect do the same thing?
The latest bios put cpu disconnect as a bios option for my, now burnt, ver1.2. I didn't know what it did, i tried it with and without it being enabled and there was no score increase...lol. Never thought to check the temp.
One u restart it wont doit why ???
I don't know about the Nforce chip sets but with the VIA you need the second program called - WpcrSet- To save the changes so the register setting stay changed after a reboot. What Pcr files are you using for WpCredit to recognize the NForce chip set?Quote:

Don't go by the settings on this Jpeg of WpcrSet, These are from a KT333 Chip set! I'm just showing you what it looks like!
