Hi, i am crazy with E6600 B2 and Asus P5W DH, if i will set FSB above 285MHz my rig does not post, i have to reset CMOS ... is board or CPU wrong? Please post anybody settings of BIOS or some idea what is wrong.

try turning off hyperpath 3
I will try turn off it, i payed really lot of money for new MoBo, 8500 RAM and latest CPU and my OC is finally only 2.61Ghz .... sh*t ....
I was thinking the same.
Disabling hyperpath 3 let me get past that wall though.
Still, I think my cpu sucks, doesn't look like mine is stable 3ghz stock volts. How fking disappointing tbh
Thats really a bummer man. I think my 6600 is a crappy clocker aswell its kind of disapointing after seeing all these engineering samples. I can't get much post much past 360 fsb and its not even stable no matter the voltage lol.
Lawrywild whats the max clocks your hitting on that 975 board?
Oh man, thanks a lot! You are my Saviour ...:worship:

My problem is only crapy memory divider in this Asus MoBo, i cant use other than 800Mhz, i have 1066 Memories but this board do not to post with memory frequency above 950Mhz ...
Wow, one bios option and now your flying good for you! How much vcore are you using for 3.6? Is that a retail or OEM?
It is a Retail boxed CPU, 3.2@1.4V in BIOS and 3.6@1.5V in BIOS.Quote:

i couldnt get prime stable at 3.6, im super stable at 3.4 on 1.49v
all the mem dividers seem to be dodgy.
I have some trouble with the board too.
As soon as I want to set mem timings manually, it doesnt post. Not even when I set the same settings it picks with auto... Using a single 512MB MDT PC667 CL4 and lowest divider with 701 bios.
I can set the timings from 266-400, but cant boot at 401+ :/
Have to set timings to auto to boot.
lol no problem mate, I was sitting at my pc for about 2 hours thinking OMFG I MUST HAVE THE WORST CLOCKER IN THE WORLD. Finally found out the fking hyperpath 3 was causing it lolQuote:

I need to play a little more atm i'm 3ghz 1.36v... havn't really primed higher though so I dunno yet, need a few more days with this thing. It's really strange to oc but oh well, I'll get used to it at some point..
Sounds just like mine mate lol, seriously JUST like mine..Quote:

Also, like several here, you have to leave mem at "by spd" or no boot.
Sucks because I spent good money on this ram and the best I got right now is ddr 900 with timings of 5_6_6_18 that I cannot change or no boot adn the divider is 4:5 At least it is a lot closer than I started and I am not sure how I got it better LOL For a while I was stuck at 2:3. If you try to use memset in windows.........crash and reboot.
But,,,, this 360 fsb wall has gotta come down!
I have tried 1.65 vmch, no help. If I try to use AiBooster to go up OR down with fsb from 360, windows locks right up. I tried to boot at fsb of 365, 370, 375, 400. nada
I have not gone over 1.45 vcore though. Thats as high as I am comfortable with right now on air. My temps are 38c idle at this vcore.
I jsut think something is screwy with so many people haveing this 360 fsb issue and the ram problems.
Wow! For about a week I played with my DQ6 and was about to return it because I couldn't get past the 360-380FSB with my retail E6700 either.Quote:

Right now I'm running 350FSB X 10 1.46 Vcore

People who can't go past 360~370FSB, it's not because your board is crappy. It's by design. ASUS is forcing tight chipset timings at 1066 strap, which will set the FSB wall at base 266FSB +100FSB. (It's too long to explain and I just learned about it myself). If you want to go past that wall, you HAVE TO give up 4:5, 3:5, etc. 1:1 will take you up around 430 (333 base FSB + 100). After that you have to give up 1:1 to go up higher, but at that point the chipset will physically give up at 1.65V max. Again, it's by design. Asus went on the route to tighten the chipset timings that's why we see the fastest PI scores on this board. On the contrast, Gigabyte went on the opposite way (w/ DS3, I don't know about other models) and that's why we see such sky high FSB but their memory dividers/timings are all messed up.
If your memory is good up to 1066MHz, try running 1:2 @266FSB. It'll run like a charm. :)
I have Prime STABLE E6600 with FSB 400Mhz, FSB on this board is not problem for me. Really problem is the memory dividers, i have Corsairs 1066 but with this MoBo i can run them only 800@8-3-3-3 because any other divider (950,1000,1067,1100 ...) does not work, system dont post with these settings of RAM.
AMEN to that. Been saying this for a while.
My highest post with ES 6600 and P5WDH is 400FSB with DDR2 @ 800 3-3-3-8. It simply will not go farther.
That's the price we pay for having the 1066 strap locked.
Not a price worth paying, imho. How i wish it was simple, like the DFI NF4 Ultra-D days.
It is not working, if i have everything on default, FSB 266, and i set 1066 memory, no post ... i have 1066 memory and on Intel board they are great at 1150Mhz ...Quote:
