This looks like a good mobo for SLI and a PCIe raid card! ;)
-
Damn i just bought the P5W DH.....but i like this one better.....
First two slot come from the northbridge and should be pci-e 8x which current 975x motherboards also have.
Any suggestions on how many pci-e lanes those two extra slots are? I reckon they are max pci-e 8x per slot, which would result in 4 times a pci-e 8x if you use them all.
-
I got the same thoughs as you guys. First thing that popped into my head ws 4x7950gx2 lol. Too bad. :(
-
Can you use the extra pci express slot for storage controllers, instead of video cards.
Thanks

Offcourse, i am currently running a Promise EX8350 in one of the pci-e 16x slots of my Asus P5W DH Deluxe. Cuts the lanes to my vidcard to pci-e 8x though, but it works perfectly.

If each pci ex on this board had 8 lanes or 16 lanes each. There no need for 64bit pci slots. Since pci express can replace.
Thanks

If i want to use my expensive 64bit PCI raid controller i must forget it and buy the P5WDG2-WS Pro . That's my point .
-
I wonder how much lanes all the PCI-E slots have, and where the bandwith for the extra slots comes from.

Why are you complaining? That's why they have 2 boards - P5WDG2-WS Pro if you want PCI 64 bit, P5W64-WS Pro if you don't need 64 bit PCI, but want lots of PCI-E.

I am just making some thoughts . I already have the P5WDH and when i saw the "WS" letters on the model , i thought that it would have the 64bit slots ...
The WS Pro doesn't have 4 PCI-E slots ...

Wow, this should be super expensive... hehe.

10 monitors. One 6200 must go because X1950XTX is dual slot. If you change the cooler then you can make it fit though :)

x1950 is a dual slot and i dont think 6200's have dual link dvi :stick:
Would be a good way to waste an insane amount of cash though.

C'mon guys - can't believe no one's suggested a Matrox TripleHead2Go with these configs yet :p:
Still, multi-monitor madness :D
