Heck yeah!
EDIT: If the E6x00's are only out on August 7th though, that's disappointing :(.
They're all out on 27th.
Intel said at its earning release that they have $200 million worth of Conroe waffers on inventory => that's at least 2-3 million parts ready for launch ( or 10% of AMDs yearly production )
Go figure...
...And the lion's share will be going to the OEM's. The amount going into the boxed CPU channel is anyone's guess.Quote:

August 7th?
Thats a random number they pulled outta their ass. The conference call, and many other first hand Intel reports, said release is the 27th. If Dell, Gateway, and all those other companies got my E6600... I hate Intel.
luckily they will have conroes, unforunately the conroes will be overpriced by around 100
Buying a Core 2 Duo form Microcenter would be about the worst Idea ever. The X6800 from them will probably be $1500 and the 6600 will most likely be $550 knowing how they gouge everything else.
Intel said in their financial report July 27th, but OEM fully stocked at 7th august.Quote:

Need something by the 3rd, so AMD it is... :/
What? you can't wait 4 days.Quote:

you better not give some BS excuse like "I am going to college" either. Not like you would use your computer the first week anways ;)
haha, yeah. College.
Wanted it before I entered, so in case I'd have to RMA something, I'd have it at the latest 2 weeks after class started.
7th of Aug isn't too bad, but all this inventory talk has me thinking I wont be able to get my hands on a E6300 for a reasonable price until later on. (which I've always thought of silly considering Intel's manufacturing capacity)
Do you not have a current computer you can use for like the first month? C2D is worth waiting for.

There should be stock by the 7th, and there should be semi normal prices.
