Hi, i have this sticks: 2x 1GB Corsair DDR2-1066, PC8500C5 TwinX, 15-5-5-5, but they doesnot to work on nominal frequency ...
I can run : 8-4-4-3@810Mhz, 12-4-4-4@900Mhz, but i cant to reach 1066Mhz at any timings and voltage ... any idea? Bad compatibility with MoBo or Bad modules?
Are you clocking 1:1 with the fsb? If so, you may need to up your vMCH voltage, or better yet, switch to something more reasonable, such asa 5:4 ram:fsb divider.

we as in XS i have yet to see one single person report a n y t h i n g bad about the 975 or 965 or otherwise using 2x 1gb sticks of ram.
we as in corsair,, then bud your the only ram ive seen have any issues.

is this on your P5W DH ? ok that explains things.
but do not manually set the SPD ther eisnt any reason to. Let it be auto and set the memory strap to 1066 you cant overclock the cpu and set 1066 at the same time unless you start raising vdimm or vmch or whatnot.
just let the cpu remain defualt and set the ram freq to 1066 set the spd to auto and set the vdimm to auto if that dont work then look up what the spec's of the ram are and set the vdimm to what it should be. probably atleast 2.1v maybe more.
your using a conroe,, loose timings dont effect conroes like other cpu's. ive shown this and so have other people. so everyone wanting the tightest timings on a conroe should relax it isnt that important
im Afraid to ask how much that ram was.. ouch..
The P5W DH is in fact what we (Corsair) are using for our 975X board since we killed our Badaxe boards and just got the replacements in last night. As for the 2x1GB, I should state that we couldn't get ANYBODY'S 2x1GB modules stable at 1066 MHz on the P5WD2-E even with a 1066 FSB processor. Those same modules would work fine at 1100+ fine on the AM2 platform, so my initial thought process was memory controller.Quote:

well the P5WD2-E Prem was a crap board anyways.
it has some serious FSB issues above 1380mhz. unless you do extreme voltage modding to the chipset.
as for the P5W DH what cpu are you using ?
lastly your using some poopy boards to be testing this ram on my friend.
grab yourself a Gigabyte DS3 and a conroe ES and drop the multi or grab a lower 6400 and bench it.
with a 7x multi the DS3 will reach nearly 500mhz fsb. and nearly a 2000mhz FSB stable......
the -E Prem and the P5W DH neither one will even come close. without modding.
if you guys are having issues with your ram then its your ram, and the boards your using.
ive had both the -e prem and the DH and will never buy them or asus products again. i went thru 3 -e premium boards all of which were just junk. and the DH after 2 weeks of trying to make it work as it arrived DOA i was able to make it run but 400mhz FSB was the max i could get.
now i wasnt using 1066 ram i was using some generic 667 ram but it will do 800mhz.
so what issues are you guys having ?
i also had issues with the P5W DH when trying to manually set the SPD the motherboard just flatout would not POST. i HAD TO leave the SPD on auto or it just wouldnt do anything.
i would say you guys should really reevaluate your choice for testing boards.
odd also on the Intel board.. it would have ran spectacular on that at 1066 ..
odd. wonder why your ram is rejecting it ?
More voltage to MCH does not work for me. I cant to reach 1066Mhz with these sticks. But this is good memory, 10-4-4-4@900Mhz@2.25V and 8-3-4-3@800Mhz@2.35V are great. But i want to use 1066Mhz ... i will try it on AM2 this weekend ...
Well for one, it's not just our RAM. We test competitor's modules too and see similar problems, but we don't bother with Windows or Memtest testing if it doesn't pass RST Pro2. Usually RST Pro2 cards are a good indicator of failure over time, and have proven more reliable than memtest or Windows benchmarks like SuperPi or what have you (save for a couple of special situations).Quote:

benching lots of RAM (Corsair, GSkill, Mushkin, etc.) @ the P5WDH (Bios 0901) atm
6400C3 maxing out @ 1037 5-5-5-15 @ 2,4V (like 2GBHZ and Crucial 800C4 - if u get nice ones they´ll also do C3 @ 800 but you´ll need to sort a lot)
same modules reached 1100 4-3-4-9 @ 1100 @ 2,2V on BadAxe
btw. here testing with cmtl-card which should be almost equal to RST Pro testing - more reliable than memtest and all the other stuff ;)
Isn't that because you use 1333-strap on the Badaxe? So performance is lower even though clocks are higher?
I have another memories from G-Skill and the same problem, nothing above 1000Mhz is not stable ... i am sure, problem is a MoBo, please post anyone some detailed pictures of bios settings with ram above 1Ghz ... please ...
I wouldn't be trusting Either of your Systems with Enermax PSU's - All that hardware dangling off your systems might not be allowing enough juice to feed your RAM! It's just a thought you should seriously consider! :)Quote:

My 512MB 8500's can run 1120@CAS5 and only two sticks, but with 4 sticks, they can only run 1030, but at CAS4, and 1146 at CAS5, both at 2.3 Vdimm.Quote:

I use a 1KW Quad SLI PC P&C PSU. The rails NEVER budge, what ever you hang off it. I have a pile of PSU's that have died over the years & Enermax were the worst offender. If I had bought one of these PSU's in the first place, I would have saved hundreds of pounds! £££
So is the PC8500C5 OC friendly with P5W DH Deluxe?
I have had no issues with the PC6400Pro on the 800 strap. Will I have issues with PC8500C5 on the 1066 strap?

i have the same problem with the same ram... only way to run 1066 is to leave fsb at 266 and mem at 1066 ,give mem 2.4v and run Spd . but spd timings suck so... run at around 900 set timings to 4.4.4.10. and thats about as good as it gets untill asus fixes the bios.Quote:
