I put my Kentsfied cpu under phase on this board using bios 0701 - can the BIOS read negative temps?
Currently I have shut it all down as BIOS reads 262 deg farenheit.

Just disable all thermal throttling and such.
The concern is that these are true temperatures - I really want confirmation that this is not a true reflection of the temps.

Heres mine with single phase...

Check contact etc mate, but 127 celcius sounds like a read error... What's the Evap temp showing - ie does it suggest there IS contact or is it sat v close to no load temps?
@ Dumo - what temps in BIOS at stock?
@ highlander - Well I stripped out the evap and contact was good (dissipated ceramique all over the CPU as has proven to be good contact).
I think maybe the board has a temp read issue with Kentsfield?
had same prob ,with 940 and phase .its just a missreading.
What windows software can I use to get a true reading?
Or how do I calculate the reading from teh information I have?
Mav
none that board only reads negative down to like -29 iirc
i think this thread can clear some things up.
Temps below 0 won't register as that. I remember reading somewhere when the temps go below 0, it will start incrementing from the maximum it can read.
EG if it's 240 then 266 would be 26C actual.
thermal sensor of the board sucks
