Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 with Conroe

Is anyone using this board with a 6600 or 6700?

I have this mb and used it with a 326 with no problems. I put a ES6600 in it yesterday and if I try and oc it in the bios, it starts to post and then shuts down and goes back to default.
In windows with Easy Tune I can oc it OK. On the 326 I could oc it from the bios.
I have F3 bios now and had F2, both do the same thing.
The only thing I can change in the bios and have it boot is memory timings and voltages.

If you know what I'm doing wrong please help me.

I like the bios on this board better then the Asus that was RMA but I sure can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. If the 326 would have given me trouble I would think maybe something was wrong with the board itself.
Here's the hw I'm using:

6600
2 x 1 Gskill F2-6400PHU2-BHZ 0606
OCZ 600 adj sli
Tower 120
Raptor 74

(Worried) UPS just dropped this board off on my doorstep 1/2 hour ago.

It's very strange issue, no problem with allendale.
Brahmzy you got a conroe ?

try every settings like PCI E clock or something. i think some dude got to 395fsb on E6600

dogsx2 , with easy tune what's the max you can hit ?

If I change from 266 to even 267 it will post the first screen, start the second where it shows a higher FSB and then comes the click, reboot. That's with 9-8-7-6 multiplyer. I changed the PCI- MHZ and all the voltages.

I called Gigabyte and talked to a woman tech. Worthless, she said use easy tune and not bios to oc.

Why me???

AY- in my first post I say I have F3. Seem like it does help the reboots so you don't have to clear cmos. That's all I see.

Misteroadster- I only went to 3150 and stopped as this no bios oc is driving me nuts. I don't like using mb software to oc.

Don't fear , i will tell this to them , just hope this problem is not just your.
No doubt it's a bios issue, and it just to be known to be solved.

Which result with easy tune ?

André 400FSB is the max for you ? you don't have the same problem than dogsx2 ?

If I remember correctly ALT-F1 unlocks the advanced options.

Tuniq Tower 120 fits this board without any problems? Yay! :toast:

I can change timing settings and boot at 266. I glad to see that AY can change his bios. Here's a ss:

Memory is just on auto, got tired of changing them and not being able to boot with higher FSB.

Try to use Memory 1:1

andre, 400fsb is the max with the E6600 Step 5 ?

well 418fsb is with ES5 chips, all i can say is expect less with retail...

and DS4 should be as good as this (but the extra PCI E ... i dunno )

but this E6600 can be FSB 433 on D975XBX.......

anyway.....FSB 400 is enough on 965 chip.
