Retail BOX X6800 Stepping 6 B2
-
4Ghz not to bad .. nice box :)
-
Those are pretty disappointing results...
What cooling?
-
yes it's disappointing result, specially for X6800 proc. :(

Tower 120

asus biobooster sometimes report that (255) for some reason then after another second it jumps back to normal temp

I've seen what an E6600 @ 3.6 can do in gaming. I can't imagine 4GHz. Crikey that must be fast. How about trying 3dmark06 with Crossfire?
-
crap, I ran SuperPI 32M @ 3975MHz on my E6600 B1
-
also why is it disapointed?? its power consumption is 75W at stock . more heat.. harder to OC compare to E6700's 65W. I think X6800 is for those who have either LN2, or phase.
sierra bound E6600 4.05GHz on air:

coolaler's E6700 4.15GHz on air:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=104484
yet i dont see any results in the OC section about X6800 on air. Most of the X6800 OC r either phase, LN2 or TEC.

My E6600 Stepping 5 can do 3.9G SP2004 X2, but X6800 is nothing to do.

Nice. I hope I get an E6600 like yours, and IMO that's the best buy.
-
this is starting to worry me... all these retail procs not doin as well as earlier ES's... im aware that its only a small batch so far but i cant help but get worried...
perhaps i should be actively looking to find an older ES E6600 rather than purchasing a new/retail one..
any thoughts?
-
What voltage is that.
This is quite a disappointment. :(
-
It's so bad...................cannot pass 3.8G SP2004

If that's true, then the lower end models will OC the best.

We will have to see what Retail E6700 and E6600 do. It could be a "total turn off" for the X6800 if they all clock between 3.6-3.8Ghz
-
Hmmm, I just love the hype! Time will tell won't it.....:)
(No chance the ES's where juiced... Can't be) :nono:
-
What hype ? Conroe on stock speed isn't hype at all. They destroy everything on the market.
Now we all know Overclocking is more luck than anything. If there is any hype, it's the one people made themselves with Step 5 ES chip. (step 3-4 wasn't overclocking that nice either.)

I never really saw a Conroe on air above 4.2 I believe (or around that) even if its the x6800. I figured the results would be around this with any on air... give or take a few mhz. Throw in some serious cooling and thats where it will shine.
There is only so much you can do with air cooling lol
