The Intel Conroe supported price saving 975X-DFI INFINITY 975X/G

Intel Core 2 Duo series will be released in July 2006 to open up the new
frontier of desktop PC performance.

This time, as we expected, Intel still follow it’s own style. Intel Core 2 Duo
series comes with complete different platform compared with the Pentium 4
series.


Except new Intel 965 chipset, 975X could also support this new series by
modify M/B PCB layout. Most of major M/B manufacturers already started to
change their M/B layout to accommodate this new series of Intel processors.
In July, users should be able to see Conroe supported 975X M/B
released to retail market.

CPU voltage control:

The CPU VID Offset setting range is broad enough from 12.5mV to 787.5mV, equivalent to 0.0125V to 0.7875V.

And each offset interval is as small as 12.5mV only.

The CPU clock setting range from 266Mhz to 533Mhz

The lowest FSB depends on the default CPU clock setting,

If the CPU is 133 or 200 MHz, then its FSB starts from 133 or 200 MHz.

The range from 1.9V to 2.65V, with 0.05V of interval.

Strength:
1. Supports Conroe processors, and the price is roughly $250 U.S. dollars.

2. Equipped with 6-phase Digital PWM power design and ceramic chipset cooler.

3. Equipped with eSATA interface.

6. The tendency to use better capacitors.








Weakness:
1. The DRAM compatibility still needs some improvement.

2. Boot up LOGO and hardware monitor utility program also need some refinement.









At the moment, most of 975X M/Bs do not support Conroe processor,
and the price range is roughly between 220 to 330 U.S. dollars.

The new release of DFI INFINITY 975X/G comes with relatively lower price
and competitive performance will certainly stir up some excitement in this
price sensitive motherboard retail market.

37x mhz fsb is max... to bad for now

but at least u got crossfire working. thats pretty cool. any special drivers needed? or just regular ones. 37x is kinda weak tho :/ hope bios updates fix it. unless they did that on purpose to shine on the lanparty.

wow almost 18000 on on '05 with just a little bit of overclock, impressive, like someone said before can you test the max fsb

hmm...$190ish you say? I thought I was going to have to wait for a 965 to get a board under $200. Now we need some more test results...that and somewhere to buy it.

Micutzu reached 500Mhz FSB with dfi.

Tempting board, but the power connector placement and all the caps next to the socket kinda kill it for me. It looks like it'll be a :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana: to insulate around the socket. For the price it looks very good though, not to mention the nice overclocking options.

As i posted last week, the board is fixed on the 1066 strap so the board will max out unmodded at 370fsb...this is an internal cut off as the board needs to move to the 1333 to clock higher.

That being said if you have an XE and you use the 13 multi you will have higher scores in the 1066 strap than the 1333 with a lower multi and high fsb.


DFI have a bios in tesing i hear that has the 1333 strap....this should see the board fly over 370fsb easy.

You're right about the price : in Europe also (at least) around €190,- (including VAT), which I find quite expensive for a "mid-range" offering. In my opinion there's little price difference with the "top" motherboards as the Asus P5W DH which sells here for €210 (also incl. VAT). What is €20,- if you've got to pay about €1000 for ram + cpu ?

I was using Intel Bad Axe guys, no time to test the DFI.
