officialy (by me) bad axe is 10 C temp offset

today i got my new freezer 7 pro .. i put it all together and OC to 4GHZ , 1.3 VCORE
i took a third party temp sensor and put it directly on the copper base of the freezer pro and later on the core plate itself :banana:

the third party sensor says 42.5 C` in idle 52.3 C` in full load.:toast:
while intel desktop utilities monitor says 52 C` in idle 62 C` in full load.:nono:

so finally i'm sure that the badaxe sensor is false:slapass:

for all of you with a badaxe and temp issues i hope this thread is helpful..

A few things to keep in mind....the copper heatsink gets cooled by the cooler - obviously it will be much cooler than the core itself. So the 10C delta indicates rather that the reading actually is correct

Yup, the die temps are always gonna be higher than the HS temp.

There are also temperature differentials inside the core itself, so a few of the extra degrees could be referring to one of the hotter areas, although I have always read that the hottest areas were always at a higher temperature than what the sensor indicated the core is at.

I guess badaxe might be different. I think it might be reading from the warmest area. Has to be something close to that for a lot of ppl to be getting such high temps
