How to: Manage the multiplier with Conroe ES Step 5 without problems !

Thanks to Franck@X86 for his help, he had help me to find how to manage the multiplier :

approximately translated :

-use an MSR Editor same as CrystalCPUID
-Edit the MSR : 0x000001a0
-Set the bit 16 to 1 -> 0x61850089

That lets you set the speedstep multipliers only and not higher multis, right?

FCG just find how to disabling the speed step...

0x61850089

C1E disabled when set to 1
Multiplier management enabled when set to 5

This only gives your lower than default multipliers on r5 ESes, does it?

i can change the multi already with my step 5 on the asus p5w dh with crystal cpuid without this msr edit :confused:
so why is this? or is it board related ?

cuz obviously not all boards can

Possible too use crystalCPUID on Step6 as well, the problem is... Booting with 8x multi isnt possible..?

Would be quite awesome to use:
500*8 1:1 4-4-4-4 =)
