New Cascade in progres

Hello.

Just started on a new cascade:

The parts:
Stage1 : danfoss SC21c
Stage2: danfoss SC18C
Henry oilsep
Home made HX
Home made SLHX
Dimas evap.

nice start to the cascade there overklokk, will be interesting how the Dimas evap goes.

Very nice sheetmetal work :clap: For me that's the hardest part, I have no tools or knowledge of that type of work.

Very sweet looking there.

That fan going to be enoung to draw cool air over the condernsor?? I've usally seen huge ones. I am a n00b to phase and a totaly newbe but i just though i'd raise the question

That fan is 150mm and it is dam strong :)

Are these SC18G (R134a compressors) strong enough to handle the higher high side pressure in long term use?

I hawe used SC18G and SC21G in many of my cascades and never godt any problem with it. Many of my cascades hawe bean running for dam long time with no issues, So yes i wil say they ar realy good for cascades :)

if ya arnt running crazy high side pressure on each stage no real difference to a single stage in my eyes:D

Yes R507 or r402 stage1 and r1150 stage 2 as usaly :)

I going on a holiday for 2 weaks now but wil get back too work on the cascade as soon as i can after the holyday.

Hi

R1150 (Ethylene) give better temperatures than R23, R1150 has -104.1* C BP, R23 has -82.1 *C BP (both in 0 bars) .

I just wanted to correct the BP of ethylene, its -103.8°C...
With ethylene you must have low HX temps to condens it a reasonable pressure. R23 you can even condense with -10° to -20°C at a low pressure.
But for this cascade R1150 is the way to go, first stage should hold -40° or even lower with load easily. Very nice cascade!

i am thinking of making a dual evap on it one for cpu and one for GPU.. use a hx with 1/2" pipe with 2 smal pipes inside. One smal pipe for each evap. But i am not sure if the Sc21G is good for so heavy load on stage 1 ?

I think i wil give it a try and if it cant hadle it i just remowe the GPU evap again :)

A SC21 should be enough for dual evap. 35° condensing and -40° evaporating should give you a capacity of 400w. Will you use captube or a TEV?

I thinking captube... but i also hawe some TEV so a may go with TEV....

Finaly did some more work. i deside too go with only one evap. The cascade is on pressure testing now, and i hope too do the electric wiering tomorrow.

Its 60x40x40cm :)

First stage is running now and tomorrow i hope too start the second stage . Wonder how good the Dimas evap is on cascade... ?

Really compact!:woot:
Tomorrow Dimas will be at my home with the Cascade and then we run some bench with my FX-57, then I will post the results.
I'm sure that his Evap it's very very good.:)
