1130 is 1M stable, but I didn't get to do a clean run because...

The board (BadAxe) died on me today unfortunately :( It comes on for a sec and turns off. I reset everything and swapped H/W to no avail. I checked around with a DMM and the DIMM fet closest to the FDD port isn't reading continuity on 2 legs :( Anyone else ever have a problem like this?

Anyway, the 6400C3s are bad a$$ :)

farsky, board died before I really got to do anything. I am going to try to replace it tomorrow or Monday and get back on it.

I just hit the 1100 3-3-3 late last night and didn't have time to do much today. I was just doing the 32Ms to see where they were stable and that's when the board crapped out. Apparently the board said, that's just way to fast and tight, I give up :)

DDR2 is looking better every time :eek:

Thats a really nice set of ram. Did you burn them in first, or is this basically a test run?? Was your badaxe rev 302 or 304?

I've had them for a little over a week now and done a lot of benching and whatnot during that time. I let them burn in for about 4 hours the day after I got them, but it looks like they are still getting better :) Rev. 304.

@ george, bonzo, silver: This is ridiculously fast for DDR2 with tight timings...it wouldn't be a record if it wasn't ;) There's plenty of 2GB DDR2 kits out there for the same price that do much less, the price isn't out of bounds if you look around at others, but you definitely get what you pay for on these :D http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145035

Yep, DDR2 voltage above 2.2v will eventually cause failure of the VDDR upper regulating MOSFET due to overcurrent. The higher above 2.2v the faster the failure. Solution is a power MOSFET rated for a higher current...

:D this mobo is good only when set to 1333fsb and 4:5 , but... awesome indeed !
aslo, ur ram is very good, 2.5v can have such results.
maybe u have a better room temp or the HS on corsair helps a little :D

Victor, yeah man, that's is exactly right for board settings and I found that out sheerly on accident, LOL. Imagine my surprise when it booted DDR2-1002 3-3-2-4 FROM BIOS after leaving the DDR2-900 timings in :) I just worked it up from there. 32M stable took 2.55V, sorry I missed the 2nd "5"...been doing a lot of that lately :( IIRC, 2.50V was OK for *1M* at that speed 3-3-3-1.

FCG, can you confirm that or is that just the "MO"? I've been hearing a lot of these boards dying, but didn't know for sure it had anything to do with Vddr. I had been running 2.3-2.55V for a couple of days on it and that was it. I had no plans to do the Vddr mod on this new one for a couple of days, but maybe I will hold off a little longer than that. Wow, if that's the case, that really stinks because this board is just dumb for memory OCs :D

Wow this is incredible. I have this memory kit sitting next to me here waiting for a mobo and conroe! So this ram is ok at 2.2v-2.5v but its the mobo circuitry that fails on the bad axe? How about the Asus P5W-DH board? I am considering that mobo.

As mentioned, it will only run that speed with those timings in the BadAxe board with certain BIOS settings. When I ran them in my P5WD2 Prem (955X), they did very well, but nothing near what they did in the BadAxe. The voltage *seems* to be OK, but of course, there's a risk ;) My awesome sticks are dead, or for some reason they just don't want to work in the replacement BadAxe. I get the "no memory" beep codes any time I try to boot with them in the board. I don't know if the board took them out with it (would be the first I've heard of that happening) or if 2.55V is too much, which I can't really imagine. In any case, I'd be a bit careful with Vddr, at least on the BadAxe 304. I have my 8000ULs in the new one running on AUTO...what a waste :rolleyes:

Would you care to elaborate, please? What strikes me is that DDR2-1100+ 8-3-3-3.0 with 6400C3 is seen only on BadAxe board. I also have a set of COrsair 6400C3 here and testing it on AM2 and I'm really "shocked" to see such clocks, from you and Tyrou. Even given the fact that platform is different... VictorWang also has 1100+ 8-3-3-3.0 with his 2GB TeamGroup and it's on BadAxe as well... Just curious, what are those certain circumstances/BIOS settings? Thanks!
