:fact:
-100c cascade had no problems firing up over and over, even after cycling power.
I had a few millimeters of contact in the corner of the CPU and still reached 4.1Ghz.
No cold bugs so far

indeed
My tests have shown that Conroe cares little about operating temperature. What really matters is voltage. As long as you have cooling sufficient to keep temps reasonable while upping the voltage you will have no problems seeing Conroe scale extremely high.
EDIT: Oh yeah, -64C and no problems at all on rev A1 chips. I can only assume that the B0 are good, too.
me to... under DI cooling , not any problem even shut-down the power and restart.
Well...
Aint it like yonah, -150 DIE(core) temp is no problem @ CPU ??
This is confusing...I see before that there were cold bugs being reported (which makes me confused as well). So are we saying, that for now, cold bug isn't really "existing" on Conroe?
No evidence of a cold bug with Conroe from me.
this is what I call the "elite" thread - now we will see how many conroe's out there, lol...

Those are only the ones who shared their results :worship:. There are more here who have conroe.Quote:

Indeed, this is very good news, I can't wait for my own conroe.
and how about Merom ?
do these have coldbug or fsb limit ?
fsb limit yes.
cold bug no.
Merom seems to have about the same fear of the cold as Yonah...
without the right BIOS you cant get into BIOS setting but the cold-friendly Aopen BIOS (1.3C) does NOT support Merom (stock mobo no T-core mod)
this is all @ Chilly1 SS temps (-50C evap) sorry i dont have a cascade or tube to test lower :(
This is a motherboard issue with the Aopen though, not with Merom/Yonah... If it was the CPU the Tcore mod wouldn't work.Quote:

about every week I get a new Opteron... or A64.
every single one since like febuary has had a coldbug :(
to this day, only my first opteron, has no coldbug.
I am so burnt out on them...
if Conroes have no cold bug, then it's all intel for me, for a long time...
I miss it, when you could just pop something in... and it works...
merom on dry ice = fine except no bios entry
M/B issue most likely for fsb limit :DQuote:

Then we can call it the overclocker's dream :woot:
inn response to the above, just from reading around on here, team japan and coolaler have both done runs with LN2, so there doesnt seem to be an issue with any temp really.
Indeed they have, but as you may know, controlling LN2 quantity you can get controlled temperature.
My X6800 Retail Cold bugged @ -135c to -140c on a P5WDH, no matter what the clocks or Multi. I'm new to LN so controlling the temps is kinda hard. Anyone have any tips? Thanks
Check the badaxe thread by Freecableguy, it has a "tcore" mod developed by Team Japan. This will alter the reported temps by changing the resistance value for that pin tricking the system into thinking the CPU is warmer than it really is.
Its a thermal trip preventing the system from firing up, the cpu is not failing.
Only use the Tcore mod with LN2 and dont forget this excessive positive temps to the system if you use a heat sink.
