Maximus II Formula
Gigabyte EP45-UD3P/UD3R FTW
I agree, the Gigabyte UD3P/R or maybe the EP45-Extreme.
Third for Gigabyte EP45 UD3P.
I <3 Q9650 @ over 500 FSB 24/7 stable easily.
I fourth the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P!
Hi5 de GA-EP45-UD3P
You are joking, guys :) MIIF can do the same, but it looks like much more pretty :)
I six the GB UD Mobo...
Depends on the budget, theres lots of decent boards to choose from. Once we know your budget, we can recommend bouards in that range
ud3p -- no doubt! :)
+1 Asus Rampage Extreme with DDR3 for that processor..... I got a q9550 in one and it smokes everything I throw at it.
Can the Gigabyte run a 9550 @ 4.5ghz (8.5x529) 24/7 linpack stable with 1.4 vcore? Assuming it's a good cpu and mem? I am familiar with max settings for 9650 and RE, but not 9550 and giga.
If not 4.5ghz, what is max freq for that 9550 24/7 config?
lol @ asus suggestions
theres one and only ep45

It's def true that giga board will take the quads higher FSB. I took the Q9650 to the max on RE with LN and it didn't get close to the Giga scores. If I had used giga board in that session I would have easily taken all of the top scores for Q9650.
Ep45-ud3p/r
Actually the best 775 motherboard ever made was/is the abit IP35 PRO but ABIT is no longer in business so that is neither here nor there.
I can't speak for the GIG versions because I haven't tried one only heard, but they seem to be pretty good.
I can speak (to a degree) about ASUS as far as the P5Q series goes. I had a P5QE for abit and sold it. Wishing I hadn't, I found a deal and bought a P5Q Deluxe.
P5Q Deluxe is an excellent board for overclocking Quads. It's god some solid power management.
Just make sure that you have a solid and stable power supply backing you up. That's they key to everything.
All you need is a DDR2 board with that CPU. Just GOOGLE the stats. DDR3 is a total waste of money when it comes to using it on what are actually just glorified DDR2 boards anyway.
Grab a couple of sticks of Esoteria, Dominator, or just about any top quality DDR2 and that sucker will fly.
Anyway.
I'd say ASUS was a safe bet.
Any Gigabyte P45 board will be best, especially the UD3 series.
Giga P45 Is better For Quad
I Have M2F Bur It's Not good For Over 500FSB Giga Too Much Better Than
EP45 UD3P, if you don't need Dual GPU than get the UD3R
