Well it's Agena(65nm) core running at higher clocks. The Northbridge/L3 clock of 1.8Ghz is a letdown of sorts,i expected 2Ghz.It can bring nice improvements overall.
I don't understand why didn't they test gaming or multimedia perf. Those tests they used are nice, but tell us pretty much nothing.
Also, that 3.4Ghz @1.47V,was that stable OC or not?

no 3.3 was stable one by the way results are nice price will be 85 euro
-
looks about like expected....after all its just half of a phenom.
-
Interesting toy, but I think these K10 X2's only shine on 3Ghz+
-
d00d, black!
Anyway, what's the price?
-
Kinda pointless now that Deneb and crew are right around the corner.
I'm really curious about the upcoming Athlon X4's - will be interesting to see how they perform without an L3 cache at all.

Without an L3?
Jesus I feel a little behind.
Could you point me to some info on those? (the Deneb)
-
bout time we had something that could compete with the E6420, personally i cant wait for when 2008 rolls around and phenom gets released
-
Some scores are low. I had a x2 3600+ (the 256KB cache one) running at 2600mhz and scored higher than that 5200+ at 2.7Ghz in the 3dmark06 cpu test.

This is a good product release for AMD, the bulk of the market is still dual core, and they are much further behind on the dual core offerings than quad core.... they need a small, performance effective product to build revenue against the dual core Intel parts.

It is great for them selling to OEM's. They needed something to compete with Intel in this arena. It also gives their 65nm fabs something to do until full transition to 45nm.

it's pointless to compare this CPU with twice more expensive C2D 8000 series...
BTW it works @ 3GHz w/o any voltage change... just upping up the multi, and 3.3 GHz is basically top prime stable freq. for all K10 on air including this one... and it only takes ~100 mV above default voltage...
-
Well probably less tests because it's still under NDA.
And Jack is right in what he say;s.
I've asked them same question today: Why now, when we have Denebs so close? Because dualcores is a big market and it's better to do that late than never, especially that AM3 CPUs will be compatible with AM2+ mobos.

hate to say it but exactly. At the way it scales no one would give a second look to anything with less than 3.2ghz stock clocks, and 4ghz oc's(Prescott's spiritual brother). Still its good to see reviews looking at them, part of me just doesn't wanna here anymore Agena with Deneb soo soon to release.
-
if they had released this earlier!!! i was always waiting for something like this..
common guys who rly needs a quadcore ... it's fun for Benching yeah.. but a good clocked DualCore will do the job right.
