the Daddy of all enclosures
-
No, Gray didn't 'like' it.
Gray loved it!
I don't know if I can make a system worthy of how that's going to look, but I'm going to try VERY hard.
Thank you Mr. S :D I can't wait to build a system around that.
It is beauiful. I just wish Aitor was looking to adopt :p:
Cheers
Gray
-
Another outstanding job by you and Aitor Sil :D
I'm just missing you making new units, when will i see new stuff from you?
Regards
-
looks amazing !
good job :toast:
-
I'd just bought the piece of acrilic and had the idea to make it transparent, @itor did all the job, it goes to gray because I need more time to get weird stuff for my next unit and I like to see Gray happy lol.
-
Now what about insulation?
-
what about 20mm thick polifan in all directions... same as vapochill enclosure, but polifan is a lot better than styrofoam.
-

Very nice enclosure dudes.
lol @ graymole. That would have to be the first time sumbody has built an entire super cooled pc around a pretty evap enclosure. Haha Not that its a bad idea. Can't wait to see what you whip up with it. :D
-

Stelios, it is dificult to see it because it is transparent, but it will lock same as a vapochill enclosure.
Maybe you can see it better in this black one:

http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/9...22small9bv.jpg
And about availability, well, it tooks a complete working day to do one, so, to convince @itor to do some more, it will take money... lol
-
Thank you Ssilencer for the photos ! :)

does that mean the enclosure won´t be removable?
-

It is removable, like the vapo, and also it is universal, it is meant to be used with @itor MA1 evap, but you can use it with all evaps, cause as it is custom made.
-
Wow this looks REAL nice.... where did you get it?
~Mike

Very very nice, imagine how it would look with this almost invisible insulation gel:

Where's the insulation???? LOL
I want that!
I can get the polifan in different colors, so you can get red, blue or even fosforescent green :stick: hehehe
-
Is that a photoshop image or is that actually insulation?? I would buy 1 of these things with that insulation, would be amazing!!
Boardy
-
You'll have to steal that aerogel from JPL/NASA!
-
No photoshop. And inch of that is equivalent to 20 panes of glass with argon inbetween each pane.
Heres an order form for you SS:D
http://www.mkt-intl.com/aerogels/AerogelOrderForm.PDF
Regards
John.
-
aerogel is 98.8% gas, its sometimes called solid smoke. It made by using supercitical fluids.
its also being used in the stardust program by nasa. You can search for particals collected in the aerogel.Nasa is lookin for voluntiers stardust@home I posted a link a while ago in the chat section
-
Hey John
Can you borrow me some money to get 10kg? lol
Really incredible stuff, I will start using it in my next spaceship :)
-
OMG that is some trick insulation.
I'll take 20kgs. lol i wish
-
Just make sure you stay away from the Nickel-Alumina and Carbon based.
The silica gel should look wild under 580-620nm.
sSilencer. How did you polish the Acrylic.?
-
Well, I'm not the one that polished it, and @itor likes to keep some secrets
-

While I can't tell how that was polished there are 3 basic ways to polish "plastics" . mechanical, flame &vapor.
flame polishing works well on acrylics and vapor on polycarbonates.
vapor polishing can be dangerious because of the chemicals but optical quality can be obtained.you can mechanical polish (buff) anything.

I haven't decided what to do with the line and heatshrink for sure yet, but I have some Chrome sleeving, and some super shiney heatshrink in blue that I think would really compliment the led's that I'm going to install.

hot wire

Have you made quite a few of these to sell or just the one?
-
That two, the clear is for Gray Mole, the Black acetal one is for a friend in Spain.
These enclosures are made in a manual lathe, not in series under a cnc machine, so they are made under order, one by one, no cheap, but the best you can get.

Ahh thats what its for I wanted to drill holes for the leds but told my friend yesterday that I cant do it, I cant drill into that piece of art.
This unit has a red theme so red leds it will be, The fans inside is red led fans and it will have a window too
-
man I can't wait for this unit, I gotta say working with Johann on this build has been a pleasure, his enthusiasm and honesty are second to none..

You could stick leds in the mountingholes you don´t use :)
-
I hope you enjoy it Raju, because acrilic price here went to heaven and the amount of wasted material is too much, so I think we will not make them anymore, at least at the current price.
-
Yeah I know I'm lucky to have something so custom, Johann really had to fight for each part on this build, but he persevered and now nearly everything is together..
here's what it'll be linked up to....
http://img350.imageshack.us/my.php?i...10100044kr.jpg
http://img274.imageshack.us/my.php?i...10100019jw.jpg
Exterior is anodised red, internals are powder coated black.
Case now has a windowed side panel too.
Video cards are now cooled by Ek 1900 blocks with PA120.3 in roof of case.
The phase unit will have a reversed look, black outside, with red glow coming from inside (Johann's idea), it's gonna be something unique for sure. I hope Johann posts up a thread here we he's done..
regards
Raja

Would BE SO cool if you could acualy se the cold evap head :D

Uhmmm hope not.... -__-;;; frosting inside enclosure only means problem of moisture getting in :P
Besides, the white foam will block all view of copper... Where is aerogel... hmmm?
-
Hello all, ive been a lurker for a while but I thought i'd pop my head in and say hello.:) Those enlosures look absolutely fantastic, and the best part is that one of them (Gray Mole's) will hopefully be mine. Gray is currently building me a nice custom phase unit into my v2000. I really can't wait to see how it comes out. Im planning on having white LEDs drilled in, together white white EL wite on the suction line.
