Yonah O/C Thread...!

Got testin a T2400@1.83 Yonah today on a vaio laptop...!!!
- Memory: 2x512 ddr2 pc4200 @ 4-4-4-12
- I can't find a tool for playing with the fsb!
- Chipset 945PM.
I tried with the clockgen with the ICS 954123...this was the only one that recognised the true fsb+corespeed...but it didn't allow me to raise the fsb...!
- Every time it was setting the fsb to the first settings!

Tomorrow more benchies....:D

SPI 1mb with many many procceses running behind...

I think it has speedstep..:D...but the bios was very pure...there was nothing to play with...

The first loop was on 997cpu speed...after the second..it raised to 1.83!

download the rightmark cpu thingy, i bet itll disable speedstep for ya.

Doesn't setting power management to "Home/Office Desk" disable it? Its always done so for me in the past.

so i guess the SPI times were done with 1.8GHz with both of you guys

can i say that those times kick arse :toast: i can only imagine what it would be like with some decent RAM/mobo and OCing :eek:

Most likely DFI results first, I know I will have full control. I am also scheduled to check in with crossfire results.

I have two systems at Cebit being shown, stop by Asetek and say high to Morten. The other is for private showing, I didnt understand where it will be at.

Rumor has it, Morten has free Vapochill Micro's for XS members. JK. I do know he should have some under the counter so be sure to squeeze him.

This is a asus barebones laptop i hope to get back some time this week.

i think it had 667 ddr2 @ 5-5-5-15 but didnt get time to check also dont know if it was dual channle
anyway the ram is slowing the cpu down when both cores are running flat out.

My 750 was in perfect shape when i sold it, and i remount HSF and blocks quite often. :)

Had a T2400 lying here for some time now, wish Aopen would hurry up and get this i975xa out, want to do a straight up comparison with the EE - same RAM, Graphics, and cooling (will be crossfire by then too!) :D

Conroe will be LGA 775

Merom will be pin-to-pin compatable to Yonah. But only 2.33G and later than Conroe.

I would like to see how conroe Mhz compare to yonah Mhz. I don't think it will have huge advantage, depends ofcourse how much both cpus clock. I hope conroe XE at 3.3Ghz will be a beast

Who is that DFI woman? Support? Can they confirm it? I know everyone that will buy $300 worth board now will later sell them at least 2x-3x cheaper because some other probably better quality/clocking board will cost like $100-200 :p:

V-Core is a read-out error - its only 1,5 volt.

Stock cooling - the little alu cooler packaged with ne motherboard. :)

Looks like Cpuz adds the Vcore for both cores and displays the sum

The 1.66 GHz Yonah is quite reasonable as far as price goes, but you'd need a board that could do 300 MHz on the FSB....could the AOpen do that?

and what about the jumpers. maybe if they were set to boot at 266 it would open up higher fsb settings in bios. i dont want to have to get a top end cpu to get a good overclock, so i'm kind of eyeing that gigabyte board now. hopefully it will be cheaper.

someone needs to get one and do a full ocing review. i've asked aopen for a review sample about 3 weeks ago, but they ignored me :(

Locks are not working on that gigabyte 945 chipset baord, are they? Then what kind of overclock can you get?

Just tested my yonah T2600ES in a Dell laptop while I wait for 975.

It does superpi in 28.670 seconds! woohoo! The entire laptop uses 85 watts of power with dual prime95's going and charing the battery.

So far, I am nothing but impressed.

Sounds like a true BIOS limitation, you know we have seen similar ones in the past. Like if the CPU is recognized as 100 MHz FSB you can overclock to 165 MHz, but if it's a 133 MHz CPU then you can go to 199 MHz. I guess it's the same here, maxing out at 266-1 MHz is not a coincidence.

Why not pin mod it to 266 MHz FSB? THEN you'll start overclock in BIOS:toast:
Since it's a 975 chipset then it's made for 266 MHz, not like the crippled mobile chips.

I did not talk about the cooling necessary to achieve that 3.8/3.9ghz... I only said that a yonah @ 3.4ghz should have a performance compared to a 3.8/3.9ghz FX60 more or less

on the laptops it has speedstep ,multi can go down to 6.
dont know if the aopen board can adjust this in the bios.

'cause I got the Aopen 975X board + an ES T2500 on it's way to pair with my X1900 CF - *hopes it works*. Might need to break out my p4 heatspreader again.

One more thing - this may sound stupid but, why is there only one core on the chip? They both integrated into one?

I don't think that bus will limit me too much in terms of overclocking.

mem can do 3:4 3-2-2-4

you lucky bugger..........hey with the core all in one....now it looks the same as AMD :) looks like Intel's finally worked it out to knock these up properly instead of bolting a couple of cores onto CPU PCB

Well it's an ES so hopefully I can up the multi.
